LC01C is a medium-to-long-throw lens for 0.65/0.66/0.67-inch panels (Christie and Panasonic), with a 1.5–3:1 throw ratio and lens shift. It is compatible with 5 projector models from 2 model series. This guide presents the lens specifications, installation distances, model compatibility list, and replacement considerations in one place.

The lens-shift capability is this lens’s key differentiator. The horizontal shift range of +64 %, -44 % and vertical shift range of +34 %, -27 % allow the projector to be installed off the screen’s centerline. Lens shift can then bring the image back into alignment without relying on keystone correction. Keystone correction comes at a cost—each adjustment sacrifices some effective pixels and softens text edges. In professional installations, never use keystone correction when lens shift can achieve the required alignment; preserving image quality is the non-negotiable priority.

2. Calculating Installation Distance from Throw Ratio

The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This zoom lens (1.5–3:1) covers a range of installation distances for any given image size, and it can focus at any point within that range during installation.

Image SizeImage WidthRequired Installation Distance
100 inches2.15 mapprox. 3.22 – 6.45 m
120 inches2.58 mapprox. 3.87 – 7.74 m
150 inches3.22 mapprox. 4.84 – 9.67 m
200 inches4.30 mapprox. 6.45 – 12.90 m

These distances are net distances from the front of the lens to the screen and do not allow for rear chassis ventilation or cable-management space. They are calculated for a 16:10 image aspect ratio; actual distances should be verified on site and against the manual.

Image quality varies at the two ends of the zoom range: toward the short-throw end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly less sharp; toward the long-throw end, the edges are sharper but the image is slightly dimmer. When venue conditions allow, the middle of the range is recommended. After installation, first find the sharpest position using the focus ring, then fine-tune the shift—adjusting both variables at once makes precise alignment difficult.

3. Compatible Models (5 Models: Christie and Panasonic)

The table below is arranged by model production date, from newest to oldest, and lists each model’s resolution, brightness, and zoom ratio for the factory-installed lens, making it easy to identify the right option for a project.

The zoom ratios shown are the zoom factors of each model’s factory-standard lens (upper limit of the factory throw-ratio range ÷ lower limit), not the zoom range of the lens featured in this article.

Common Features of These Models

The factory-standard lenses for these 5 models mostly have throw ratios in the 1.25-2.0:1 range. The 1.5–3:1 model in this article effectively alters the focal range, enabling different image sizes from the same projection distance—this is the direct reason for replacing the lens. It also retains the full lens-shift capability, so the image can still be aligned after the zoom range has been changed.

4. Three Checks Before Replacement

  • The panel and resolution must match. This model is compatible with 0.67-inch panels. Projectors with a different panel size or resolution will vary in projection performance, so the safest approach is to verify the specifications against the chassis nameplate before installation.
  • Check the interfaces and locking mechanism. Interfaces are generally interchangeable across platforms of the same generation, but the position of the locking catch differs between generations. If the image appears skewed or the edges are not sharp after installation, the lock is usually not fully engaged; this is generally not a problem with the lens itself.
  • Include the lens-shift margin in the installation plan. The shift range provides some installation flexibility, but edge image quality declines when the lens is pushed to its limits. Keep actual use within 70% of the specified values.

For a model not on the list, the safest option is to send us the chassis nameplate and a photo of the original lens for verification—platforms of the same generation often share the same interfaces, but the risk of ordering based on a similar model designation is not worth taking.
