SC33+ is a short-throw lens for installation projectors (Optoma and Christie), with a 0.88–1.33:1 throw ratio and lens shift. It is compatible with 4 projector models across 1 model series. This article presents the lens specifications, installation distances, model compatibility list, and replacement considerations in one place.

Lens-shift capability is the key differentiator of this lens. The 110% horizontal and 50% vertical shift ranges allow the projector to be installed away from the screen centerline and the image repositioned through lens shift without using keystone correction. Keystone correction comes at a cost—each correction step reduces effective resolution and blurs text edges. In professional installations, lens shift should always be used instead of keystone correction whenever possible; image quality must come first.
2. Calculating Installation Distance from Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This lens has a zoom range of 0.88–1.33:1, so each image size corresponds to a range of installation distances. The lens can focus at any distance within that range.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | approx. 1.89 – 2.86 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | approx. 2.27 – 3.43 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | approx. 2.84 – 4.29 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | approx. 3.78 – 5.72 m |
The distances above are clear distances from the front of the lens to the screen and do not account for rear-housing ventilation or cabling space. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual values should be verified through on-site measurements and the manual.
Image quality varies at the two ends of the zoom range: near the short end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; near the long end, the edges are sharper and brightness is slightly lower. When venue conditions allow, the middle of the range is recommended. After installation, first find the sharpest position on the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift—adjusting both variables at once makes precise alignment difficult.
3. Compatible Models (4 Models from Optoma and Christie)
The following table is sorted from newest to oldest by model production date and lists each model’s resolution, brightness, and factory-lens zoom ratio for quick identification according to project requirements.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution | Zoom Ratio |
|---|---|---|---|
| ZK1050 | 11000 lumens | 4K 3840×2160 | — |
| 4K7-HS | 7500 lumens | 4K 3840×2160 | — |
| ZK750 | 7500 lumens | 4K 3840×2160 | — |
| 4K10-HS | 11000 lumens | 4K 3840×2160 | — |
Shared Features of These Models
The throw ratios of the standard factory lenses for these four models generally vary and depend on the lens. The 0.88–1.33:1 lens featured in this article provides an adjusted focal range, allowing different image sizes at the same projection distance—this is the direct reason for replacing the lens. It also retains full lens-shift capability, so the image can still be aligned after the zoom range is changed.
4. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Check the panel size. The panel specifications for this model have not yet been added to our database. Please send us a photo of the projector nameplate for confirmation.
- Check the interface and locking mechanism. Interfaces are generally compatible within the same platform generation, but the locking-latch position differs between generations. If the image appears skewed and the edges are not sharp after installation, the latch is usually not fully engaged rather than the lens itself being defective.
- Account for lens-shift margin in the installation. The shift range provides installation flexibility, but edge quality declines when it is pushed to the limit. We recommend keeping actual use within 70% of the rated value.
For reliable confirmation of whether a model outside the list is compatible, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and original lens. Same-generation platforms often share the same interface, but ordering based solely on a similar model designation carries unnecessary risk.
