FA106 is a mid-to-long throw lens for engineering projectors (Hualu). It fits 2 models in 1 model series. This article lays out the lens specifications, installation distance, model compatibility list, and replacement notes all in one place.
I. Lens Specifications
| Model | FA106 |
| Internal Model | — |
| Series | FA Series |
| Throw Ratio | — |
| Compatible Models | 2 models / 1 model series |
| Warranty | 12 months; for damage other than human-induced faults, after-sales service applies, based on the date on the shipping document |
II. Installation Distance
The throw ratio for this model has not yet been recorded. For installation distance, please refer to the nameplate on the unit and the user manual, or contact us to calculate it based on the on-site dimensions.
III. Compatible Models (2 Models, Hualu)
The table below is ordered by model production date, from newest to oldest, and includes the resolution, brightness, and zoom ratio of the original standard lens for each model, so you can quickly locate the right option for your project.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution | Zoom Ratio |
|---|---|---|---|
| HL-GU18K | 18000 lumens | WUXGA 1920×1200 | 1.33X |
| HL-GU21K | 21000 lumens | WUXGA 1920×1200 | 1.33X |
The zoom ratio is the zoom factor of the standard lens supplied with that model (upper limit ÷ lower limit of the stock throw ratio range), not the zoom range of the lens described in this article.
Common Traits of These Models
The standard lenses supplied with these 2 models mostly have throw ratios concentrated in the 1.5~2.0 range. The lens described here effectively shifts the focal range, so the same projection distance can produce a different image size — which is precisely the direct reason for replacing the lens; at the same time, full lens-shift capability is retained, so the image can still be properly aligned after the focal range is adjusted.
IV. Three Things to Confirm Before Replacement
- Verify the panel size. The panel specifications for this model have not yet been recorded. Please send us a photo of the unit's nameplate for confirmation.
- Interfaces and locking mechanism. Same-generation platforms generally offer good interface compatibility, but the position of the locking latch differs between generations. If the image appears skewed or the edges look soft after installation, it is usually because the lock is not fully engaged, not a problem with the lens itself.
- Fixed focus leaves no zoom margin. The image size can only be changed by moving the projector, so the site dimensions must be measured accurately first, leaving an extra 10–20 cm at the endpoints.
For models outside the list, the safest approach is to send us the unit's nameplate and a photo of the original lens for verification — same-generation platforms often share interfaces, but the risk of ordering based on a similar model name is not worth taking.
