NEC NP11FL Short Fixed Lens: Compatible with 38 Models

NEC Original Lens NP11FL Short Fixed is an OEM optical accessory for NEC professional projectors, featuring a short-throw (Short Throw) design and a 0.80:1 throw ratio. The official compatibility list covers 38 projector models. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size; there is no need to make do with adapter rings. The value of an OEM lens lies not in the extra rows in its specifications, but in the fact that it is calibrated at the factory to the optical path and mount of that projector series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel all operate at their design values, so keystone correction is unnecessary to compensate for image quality.

1. Lens Specifications

Specifications are subject to the official specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not shown in the specifications table, please verify them with us using the projector model. Ordering directly based on a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.

2. Converting Throw Ratio to Installation Distance

The throw ratio is the ratio of installation distance to image width. This OEM lens has a fixed focus (0.80:1), so the installation distance varies linearly with image size and offers no adjustment range. Accurate measurements are essential before installation.

The distances above are clear distances from the front of the lens to the screen and do not account for ventilation and cabling space behind the projector. Figures are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual values are subject to on-site measurements and the manufacturer’s manual.

For compatibility with a model not listed, send us the projector nameplate and a photo of the existing lens for verification. Projectors from the same generation often share a mount, but the risk of ordering based on a similar model is not worth taking.

4. Three Checks Before Replacement

• Confirm the projector’s imaging panel and resolution. OEM lenses are designed for a specific panel size. If the panel specifications differ, the image circle cannot cover the full image, resulting in vignetting or edge light loss after installation.
• Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 0.80:1. Use the table in Section 2 to calculate the distance for your installation site. A fixed-focus lens offers no adjustment margin; even with a zoom lens, allow 10–20 cm at both ends.
• Verify the mount and locking mechanism. OEM lenses are calibrated to the mount of the corresponding projector series. After installation, you must hear the lock engage fully. A skewed image or soft edges usually indicate that the lock is not fully engaged, rather than a problem with the lens itself.
