Optoma Original Lens BX-CAA02 Standard Zoom is an OEM optical accessory for Optoma engineering projectors, featuring a standard throw (Standard Throw) and a throw ratio of 1.22-1.53:1. The OEM model compatibility list covers 6 models. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size; there is no need to resort to adapter rings. The value of an OEM lens lies not in the extra figures on a specification sheet, but in its factory calibration to the optical path and lens mount of the corresponding projector series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel all meet their design specifications, without having to compensate for image quality with keystone correction.

I. Lens Specifications
| Brand | Optoma (Optoma) |
| Lens Model | BX-CAA02 Standard Zoom |
| Throw Ratio | 1.22-1.53:1 |
| Product Type | Standard Throw (Standard Throw) |
| Compatible Models | 6 models |
| Warranty | 12 months; after-sales service is available for damage not caused by the user, based on the date shown on the shipping invoice |
The above specifications are subject to the OEM specifications. Mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type are not listed in the specification table; please contact us with your projector model for verification. Placing an order based solely on a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.
II. Calculating Installation Distance from Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This OEM lens is a zoom lens (1.22-1.53:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of installation distances. The lens can be focused anywhere within this range.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | Approx. 2.62 – 3.29 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | Approx. 3.15 – 3.95 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | Approx. 3.93 – 4.93 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | Approx. 5.25 – 6.58 m |
These figures represent the clear distance from the lens face to the screen and do not include space for rear cooling and cable connections. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; in actual installation, follow on-site measurements and the OEM manual.
Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: at the short-throw end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; at the long-throw end, the edges are sharper and brightness decreases slightly. When site conditions allow, it is recommended to use the middle of the range. After installation, first find the sharpest position on the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.
III. Compatible Projector Models (6 Models)
The following table is taken from the OEM model compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; unavailable values are shown as “—” and have not been estimated.
| Projector Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| TW865-NL | 6000 lumens | 1280x800 |
| TW865-NLW | 6000 lumens | 1280x800 |
| WU630 | 6000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| ZU650 | 5500 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| ZU650+ | 5500 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| ZU660 | 6000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
For models not listed, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and existing lens for verification. Platforms of the same generation often share the same lens mount, but ordering based solely on similar model names is not worth the risk.
Throw Ratio by Projector Series
When the same BX-CAA02 Standard Zoom is installed in the following projector series, the nominal throw ratio varies. Use the value corresponding to the series of your actual projector.
| Projector Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 1.22-1.53:1 |
IV. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Confirm the projector imaging chip and resolution. OEM lenses are designed for a specific panel size. If the panel specifications differ, the image circle cannot cover the full image, resulting in vignetting or edge illumination loss after installation.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a nominal throw ratio of 1.22-1.53:1. Use the table in Section 2 to calculate the distance for your site dimensions. A fixed-focus lens offers no adjustment margin, and even a zoom lens requires an additional 10–20 cm at both ends.
- Verify the lens mount and locking mechanism. OEM lenses are calibrated to the lens mount of the corresponding projector series. You must hear the lens click into the locked position after installation. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking, not by a defect in the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the existing lens nameplate and send them to us. Verification against the actual hardware is the safest option.
