Vivitek GB949G Long Zoom Lens: D5500 D5510 D6010 D6510 Compatibility

Oct 30, 2026, 24:45:05 UTC

Vivitek OEM Lens GB949G Long Zoom is an OEM optical accessory for Vivitek professional projectors, featuring a long-throw (Long Throw) design with a 2.22-4.43:1 throw ratio for D/H Engineering and Cinema Series panels measured in inches. The OEM compatibility list covers 4 projector models. Before installation, verify the projector model and panel size; no adapter rings or other makeshift solutions are needed. The value of an OEM lens lies not in the extra numbers on a specification sheet, but in its factory calibration to the optical path and lens mount of that projector series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel all meet their design specifications, so there is no need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

The above specifications are based on the manufacturer's published specifications. Mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type are not listed in the specifications table. Please verify them with us using the projector model, as ordering solely on the basis of a similar model risks the lens not fitting.

2. Calculating Installation Distance from Throw Ratio

The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This OEM lens is a zoom lens (2.22-4.43:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of installation distances. The lens can focus at any distance within this range.

Image SizeImage WidthRequired Installation Distance
100 inches2.15 mapprox. 4.77 – 9.52 m
120 inches2.58 mapprox. 5.73 – 11.43 m
150 inches3.22 mapprox. 7.16 – 14.29 m
200 inches4.30 mapprox. 9.55 – 19.05 m

The values above represent the clear distance from the front face of the lens to the screen and do not include clearance for rear cooling and cable connections. They are calculated for a 16:10 image format; in practice, on-site measurements and the manufacturer's manual take precedence.

Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: toward the near end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; toward the far end, the edges are sharper and brightness is slightly lower. When the installation space allows, we recommend positioning the lens in the middle of the range. After installation, turn the focus ring to find the sharpest image, then fine-tune the lens shift.

3. Compatible Models (4 Projectors)

The table below is taken from the OEM compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the projector model database; values that cannot be verified are shown as “—” and are not estimated.

To verify compatibility with a model not on the list, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and the current lens. Platforms from the same generation often share a mount, but the risk of ordering based only on a similar model is not worth taking.

Throw Ratio by Model Series

The nominal throw ratio varies when the same GB949G Long Zoom lens is used with the series listed below, so select the value according to the series of the actual projector.

4. Three Checks Before Replacement

  • The panel size must match. GB949G Long Zoom is designed for D/H Engineering and Cinema Series panels measured in inches. For projectors with a different panel size or resolution, the image circle and edge illumination may be compromised even if the lens mount fits.
  • Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a nominal throw ratio of 2.22-4.43:1. Use the table in Section 2 to apply this ratio to the dimensions of your installation site. Fixed-focus lenses offer no margin, and zoom lenses still need 10–20 cm of clearance at both ends.
  • Check the mount and lock. The OEM lens is calibrated to the mount of projectors in this series, and you must hear the lock engage fully after installation. A skewed image and soft edges are usually due to incomplete locking, rather than a problem with the lens itself.

If you are unsure, send us one photo each of the projector nameplate and the nameplate on the current lens. Physical verification is the safest approach.
