Fujifilm FP-ZL050 Short Zoom Lens Guide: ZUH12000 Fit

Oct 30, 2026, 04:45:55 UTC

Fujifilm Original Lens FP-ZL050 Short Zoom is an original optical accessory for Fujifilm engineering projectors. It is a short-throw (Short Throw) lens with a throw ratio of 0.50-0.65:1. The official model compatibility list covers 1 model. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size; no adapter ring is needed. The value of an original lens lies not in the extra figures on the specification sheet, but in the fact that it is factory-calibrated to the optical path and mount of that projector series. Once installed, image circle coverage, edge illumination, and focusing travel are all at their design values, so there is no need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

The above specifications are subject to the manufacturer's official specifications. Mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type are not listed in the specifications table. Please verify them with us using the projector model; ordering solely on the basis of a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.

II. Converting Throw Ratio to Installation Distance

The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This original lens is a zoom lens (0.50-0.65:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of distances. Any installation distance within that range can be brought into focus.

Image SizeImage WidthRequired Installation Distance
100 inches2.15 mApprox. 1.07 – 1.40 m
120 inches2.58 mApprox. 1.29 – 1.68 m
150 inches3.22 mApprox. 1.61 – 2.10 m
200 inches4.30 mApprox. 2.15 – 2.79 m

The distances above are the clear distance from the front face of the lens to the screen and do not include space behind the projector for ventilation or cabling. The figures are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual distances must be verified on site and according to the manufacturer's manual.

Image quality varies at the two ends of the zoom range: toward the close end, the image is brighter and the edges slightly softer; toward the far end, the edges are sharper and brightness drops slightly. When the venue permits, it is recommended to use the middle of the range. After installation, first find the sharpest setting on the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.

III. Compatible Projector Models (1 Model)

The table below is taken from the official model compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; unavailable values are shown as — and have not been estimated.

To determine whether a model outside the list is compatible, send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens. Platforms from the same generation often share a mount, but ordering based on a similar model is not worth the risk.

Throw Ratios by Model Series

The nominal throw ratio differs by series when the same FP-ZL050 Short Zoom is used. Select the value based on the series of the actual projector.

IV. Three Checks Before Replacement

  • Confirm the projector chip and resolution. Original lenses are designed for a specific panel size. If the panel specification differs, the image circle cannot cover the full frame, resulting in vignetting or edge light loss after installation.
  • First, calculate the installation distance. This lens has a nominal throw ratio of 0.50-0.65:1. Use the table in Section II to determine the distance for your venue. A prime lens provides no adjustment margin, while a zoom lens should also allow an extra 10–20 cm at both ends.
  • Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The original lens is calibrated to the mount of that projector series, and it must audibly click into the locked position after installation. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking, not by a problem with the lens itself.

If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the existing lens nameplate and send them to us. Verification against the actual products is the most reliable approach.
