Barco Original Lens EN46 Ultra Wide Zoom is an OEM optical accessory for Barco professional projectors. It is a standard-throw lens (Standard Throw) with a throw ratio of 0.80-1.21:1. The official compatibility list covers 20 models. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size; there is no need to improvise with an adapter ring. The value of an original lens lies not in the extra rows of specifications, but in the fact that it is calibrated at the factory to the optical path and mount of that projector series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel all meet their design values, so there is no need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

1. Lens Specifications
| Brand | Barco (Barco) |
| Lens Model | EN46 Ultra Wide Zoom |
| Throw Ratio | 0.80-1.21:1 |
| Product Type | Standard-throw lens (Standard Throw) |
| Compatible Models | 20 models |
| Warranty | 12 months; for damage not caused by the user, after-sales service is available, subject to the date on the shipping document |
The above specifications are subject to the manufacturer's official specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not shown in the specifications table, please verify them with us based on the projector model. Placing an order solely because the model appears similar carries the risk that the lens will not fit.
2. Calculating Installation Distance from Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This original lens is a zoom lens (0.80-1.21:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of installation distances, and it can focus anywhere within that range.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | Approx. 1.72 – 2.60 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | Approx. 2.06 – 3.12 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | Approx. 2.58 – 3.90 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | Approx. 3.44 – 5.20 m |
The above distances are the clear spacing from the front of the lens to the projection screen and do not account for rear housing ventilation and cable-management space. Calculated for a 16:10 image, the actual distance should be verified on site and according to the manufacturer's manual.
Image quality varies at the two ends of the zoom range: near the close end, the image is brighter and the edges appear slightly softer; near the far end, the edges are sharper and brightness decreases slightly. When the venue allows, placing the lens around the middle of the range is recommended. After installation, first find the sharpest image position using the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.
3. Compatible Models (20 models)
The following table is taken from the official compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; where the data is unavailable, an em dash (—) is shown, and no assumptions are made.

For models not listed, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and current lens so we can verify compatibility. Platforms of the same generation often share the same mount, but ordering based only on a similar model is not worth the risk.
Throw Ratios for Different Model Series
The nominal throw ratio of the same EN46 Ultra Wide Zoom varies across the following series, so the value should be selected based on the series of the actual projector.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 0.80-1.21:1 |
4. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Verify the projector imaging chip and resolution. The original lens is designed for a specific panel size. If the panel specifications differ, the image circle cannot cover the full image, resulting in vignetting or edge light loss after installation.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a nominal throw ratio of 0.80-1.21:1. Use the table in Section 2 to calculate the distance for your venue. A fixed-focus lens offers no adjustment margin, and even a zoom lens should allow an additional 10–20 cm at both ends.
- Check the mount and locking mechanism. The original lens is calibrated to the mount of that projector series and must be heard to click fully into its locked position after installation. If the image is skewed or the edges appear soft, the most common cause is incomplete locking rather than an issue with the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the existing lens nameplate, then send them to us. Verifying against the actual equipment is the most reliable approach.
