Genuine Sony VPLL-Z3032 long-throw lens, 3.18-4.84:1 throw ratio, compatible with five Sony projectors. Available for bulk project orders.

Sony Genuine Lens VPLL-Z3032 is an original optical accessory for Sony business projectors. It is a long-throw (Long Throw) lens with a throw ratio of 3.18-4.84:1, designed for Z3-series-inch panels. The official compatibility list covers 5 models. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size—there is no need to make do with an adapter ring. The value of a genuine lens lies not in the extra figures in the specification sheet, but in its factory calibration to the optical path and mount of projectors in the series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel all meet the design values, eliminating the need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

The above specifications are based on the manufacturer's official specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not shown in the table, please contact us with the projector model for verification. Ordering solely on the basis of a similar model carries the risk of an incompatible fit.
2. Calculating Installation Distance from Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of installation distance to image width. This genuine lens is a zoom lens (3.18-4.84:1), so each image size corresponds to a range of installation distances, and the lens can focus at any position within that range.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | Approx. 6.84 – 10.41 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | Approx. 8.20 – 12.49 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | Approx. 10.26 – 15.61 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | Approx. 13.67 – 20.81 m |
These figures represent the clear distance from the front surface of the lens to the screen and do not include space behind the projector for cooling or cable connections. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; confirm actual distances through on-site measurements and the manufacturer's manual.
Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: at the close end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; at the far end, the edges are sharper and brightness is slightly lower. If site conditions permit, use the middle of the range. After installation, find the sharpest setting on the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.
3. Compatible Models (5 Models)
The following table is taken from the official compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are completed from the model database; unavailable data is shown as “—” and has not been estimated.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| VPL-F755HZ | 7300 lumens | WUXGA, 1920 x 1200 |
| VPL-F750HZ | 7300 lumens | WUXGA, 1920 x 1200 |
| VPL-F655HZ | 6000 lumens | WUXGA, 1920 x 1200 |
| VPL-F630WZ | 6000 lumens | WXGA, 1280 x 800 |
| VPL-F436HZ | — | — |
For models not on the list, send us photos of the projector nameplate and current lens for verification—platforms from the same generation often share the same mount, but ordering based on similar model names alone is not worth the risk.
Throw Ratio by Model Series
The specified throw ratio varies when the same VPLL-Z3032 is used with the series listed below, so select the value based on the actual projector series.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 3.18-4.84:1 |
4. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Make sure the panel size matches. VPLL-Z3032 is designed for Z3-series-inch panels. A projector with a different panel size or resolution may have image-circle and edge-illumination problems, even if the lens physically fits the mount.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a specified throw ratio of 3.18-4.84:1. Use the table in Section 2 to calculate the distance for your installation site. A fixed-focus lens provides no adjustment margin, and even a zoom lens needs 10–20 cm of margin at both ends.
- Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The genuine lens is calibrated for the mount of projectors in this series. After installation, confirm that you hear the lock engage fully. A skewed image or soft edges usually indicate that the lock is not fully engaged, rather than a problem with the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the current lens nameplate and send them to us. Verification against the physical units is the most reliable approach.
