Genuine Sony VPLL-3007 short-throw lens, 0.65:1 ratio, for VPL-F755HZ, VPL-F750HZ, VPL-F655HZ, VPL-F630WZ and 4 other Sony projectors. Bulk supply available.

Sony Genuine Lens VPLL-3007 is a genuine optical accessory for Sony professional projectors. It is a short-throw (Short Throw) lens with a 0.65:1 throw ratio, designed for Z3-series-inch panels. Sony’s official compatibility list covers 5 models; before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size, with no need for an adapter ring workaround. The value of a genuine lens lies not in the extra rows of figures in the specification sheet, but in the fact that it is factory-calibrated to the optical path and mount of that projector series: once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focusing travel are all at their design values, with no need to use keystone correction to mask image-quality shortcomings.
1. Lens Specifications
| Brand | Sony (Sony) |
| Lens model | VPLL-3007 |
| Throw ratio | 0.65:1 |
| Product type | Short throw (Short Throw) |
| Applicable panel | Z3-series-inch |
| Models covered | 5 projectors |
| Warranty | 12 months; after-sales service is available for damage not caused by improper use, subject to the date on the shipping invoice |
The above specifications are subject to Sony’s official specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not listed in the specification table, please contact us with your projector model for verification. Placing an order solely because the model numbers are similar carries the risk that the lens will not fit.
2. Calculating Installation Distance from the Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of installation distance to image width. This genuine lens has a fixed focal length (0.65:1), so the installation distance varies linearly with image size and provides no room for adjustment. Accurate measurements are therefore essential before installation.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | approx. 1.40 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | approx. 1.68 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | approx. 2.10 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | approx. 2.79 m |
These figures represent the clear distance from the front surface of the lens to the screen and do not include space behind the projector for heat dissipation and cable connections. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual distances should be confirmed through on-site measurements and the manufacturer’s manual.
3. Compatible Projector Models (5 Units)
The following list is taken from Sony’s official compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; unavailable values are shown as “—”, and no assumptions are made.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| VPL-F755HZ | 7300 lumens | WUXGA, 1920 x 1200 |
| VPL-F750HZ | 7300 lumens | WUXGA, 1920 x 1200 |
| VPL-F655HZ | 6000 lumens | WUXGA, 1920 x 1200 |
| VPL-F630WZ | 6000 lumens | WXGA, 1280 x 800 |
| VPL-F436HZ | — | — |
To verify whether a model not on the list can be used, please send us a photo of the projector nameplate and the existing lens. Same-generation platforms often share the same mount, but the risk of ordering based only on a similar model number is not worth taking.
Throw Ratios by Projector Series
The nominal throw ratio of the same VPLL-3007 varies by projector series. Select the value based on the series of the actual projector.
| Projector Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 0.65:1 |
4. Three Checks Before Replacement
- The panel size must match. VPLL-3007 is designed for Z3-series-inch panels. Even if the lens fits the mount, a projector with a different panel size or resolution may still have problems with image-circle coverage and edge illumination.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a nominal throw ratio of 0.65:1. Use the table in Section 2 to calculate the installation distance for your venue. A fixed-focus lens has no adjustment margin, while a zoom lens should still allow for 10–20 cm of clearance at both ends of the range.
- Verify the mount and locking mechanism. Genuine lenses are calibrated to the mount for that projector series. After installation, you must hear the locking mechanism engage. A skewed image or blurred edges are usually caused by the lens not being fully locked, rather than by the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the existing lens nameplate, then send them to us. Verification against the actual products is the most reliable approach.
