Genuine NEC NP17ZL-4K Zoom lens, 1.24-1.78:1 throw ratio, compatible with PX1005QL-B, PX1005QL-B-18, PX1005QL-W and PX1005QL-W-18. Available for bulk orders.

NEC Genuine Lens NP17ZL-4K Zoom is an original optical accessory for NEC engineering projectors, featuring a standard throw (Standard Throw) and a throw ratio of 1.24-1.78:1. The manufacturer’s compatibility list covers 4 models. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size; no adapter ring is needed. The value of a genuine lens lies not merely in its additional specifications, but in the fact that it is factory-calibrated to the optical path and mount of that projector series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focusing range all meet the intended design values, eliminating the need for keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

1. Lens Specifications
| Brand | NEC (NEC) |
| Lens Model | NP17ZL-4K Zoom |
| Throw Ratio | 1.24-1.78:1 |
| Product Type | Standard Throw (Standard Throw) |
| Compatible Projector Models | 4 models |
| Warranty | 12 months; after-sales service is available for damage not caused by the user, based on the date shown on the shipping documents |
The above specifications are subject to the manufacturer’s official specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not listed in the specifications table, please contact us with the projector model. Ordering based solely on a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.
2. Calculating Installation Distance from the Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This genuine lens is a zoom lens (1.24-1.78:1), so each image size corresponds to a range of installation distances. The lens can be focused at any distance within that range.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | approx. 2.67 – 3.83 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | approx. 3.20 – 4.59 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | approx. 4.00 – 5.74 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | approx. 5.33 – 7.65 m |
The above distances represent the clear distance from the front of the lens to the screen and do not include space required for rear cooling and cable connections. The calculations are based on a 16:10 image; actual values should be verified on site and according to the manufacturer’s manual.
Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range. Near the wide-angle end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; near the telephoto end, the edges are sharper and brightness is slightly lower. Where the venue allows, the middle of the range is recommended. After installation, first find the sharpest position on the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.
3. Compatible Projector Models (4 Models)
The following table is taken from the manufacturer’s compatibility list. Brightness and resolution values are populated from the model database; unavailable values are marked “—” and are not estimated.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| PX1005QL-B | 10000 lumens | 3840x2160 |
| PX1005QL-B-18 | 10000 lumens | 3840x2160 |
| PX1005QL-W | 10000 lumens | 3840x2160 |
| PX1005QL-W-18 | 10000 lumens | 3840x2160 |
To determine whether a model outside this list is supported, send us a photo of the projector nameplate and the current lens. Projectors based on the same generation often share the same mount, but ordering based solely on a similar model is not worth the risk.
Throw Ratio by Projector Series
The rated throw ratio varies among the following projector series when the same NP17ZL-4K Zoom is installed. When selecting a lens, use the value for the series of the projector in question.
| Projector Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 1.24-1.78:1 |
4. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Confirm the projector chip and resolution. Genuine lenses are designed for specific panel sizes. If the panel specifications differ, the image circle cannot cover the full image, resulting in vignetting or edge light loss after installation.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 1.24-1.78:1. Use the table in Section 2 to match the dimensions of your venue. While a fixed-focus lens offers no adjustment margin, allow an additional 10–20 cm at both ends of the zoom range.
- Verify the mount and locking mechanism. Genuine lenses are calibrated to the mount of the corresponding projector series. After installation, you must hear the lock engage fully. A skewed image or soft edges usually indicate that the lock is not fully engaged, rather than a problem with the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the current lens nameplate, then send them to us. Verification against the actual products is the most reliable approach.
