ROLY T68 Short Zoom Lens Compatible with RL-E5U RL-E5W RL-E6Q RL-E6U RL-E6W RL-E7Q RL-E7U

ROLY Genuine Lens T68 Short Zoom is an OEM optical accessory for ROLY engineering projectors. It is a short-throw (Short Throw) lens with a throw ratio of 0.68-0.80:1. The official compatibility list covers seven models. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size; no adapter rings are needed. The value of an OEM lens lies not in the extra data it adds to the specifications, but in the factory calibration to the optical path and lens mount of the relevant projector series: once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel are all at their design values, eliminating the need for keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

The above specifications are subject to the manufacturer's official specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and lens mount type not shown in the specifications table, please contact us with the projector model for verification. Ordering based solely on a similar model carries the risk of the lens not fitting.

2. Converting Throw Ratio to Installation Distance

The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This OEM zoom lens (0.68-0.80:1) corresponds to a range of installation distances for any given image size, and it can be focused at any point within that range.

Image SizeImage WidthRequired Installation Distance
100 inches2.15 mApprox. 1.46 – 1.72 m
120 inches2.58 mApprox. 1.75 – 2.06 m
150 inches3.22 mApprox. 2.19 – 2.58 m
200 inches4.30 mApprox. 2.92 – 3.44 m

The distances above are clear distances from the front surface of the lens to the screen and do not include clearance for ventilation and cable connections at the rear of the projector. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual distances should be verified on site and according to the manufacturer's manual.

Image quality varies at the two ends of the zoom range: at the close end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; at the far end, the edges are sharper and the image is slightly dimmer. If the venue allows, position the projector around the middle of the range. After installation, turn the focus ring to the sharpest setting, then fine-tune the lens shift.

3. Compatible Projector Models (7 Models)

The table below is taken from the official compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the projector model database; an em dash (—) is shown where the data is unavailable, and no values are estimated.

For compatibility with a model not on the list, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens for verification—projectors based on the same platform generation often share the same mount, but the risk of ordering based on a similar model name is not worth taking.

Throw Ratio by Projector Series

The nominal throw ratio varies by series when the same T68 Short Zoom is installed. Select the value based on the series of the projector you are using.

4. Three Checks Before Replacement

  • Confirm the projector imaging chip and resolution. The OEM lens is designed for a specific panel size. If the panel specifications differ, the image circle cannot cover the full image area, resulting in vignetting or light loss at the edges after installation.
  • Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 0.68-0.80:1. Use the table in Section 2 to calculate the distance for your venue. A fixed-focus lens provides no adjustment margin, and even a zoom lens requires 10–20 cm of allowance at both ends of the range.
  • Verify the lens mount and lock. The OEM lens is calibrated to the lens mount of that projector series, and you must hear it lock into place after installation. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by an incompletely locked lens, not by the lens itself.

If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the nameplate on the existing lens, then send them to us. Verification against the actual hardware is the safest approach.
