Barco Genuine EN61 Zoom Lens is an OEM optical accessory for Barco professional projectors. It is a long-throw (Long Throw) lens with a throw ratio of 1.70-2.50:1. The manufacturer's compatibility list covers 21 projector models; before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size, with no need to improvise using an adapter ring. The value of an OEM lens lies not in the additional figures in the specifications table, but in the fact that it is calibrated at the factory to the optical path and mount of the relevant projector series: once fitted, the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel are all at their design values, so keystone correction is not needed to compensate for image-quality limitations.

1. Lens Specifications

For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not listed in the specifications table, please contact us with the projector model for verification. Ordering based solely on a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.
2. Converting Throw Ratio into Installation Distance
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This OEM zoom lens (1.70-2.50:1) produces the same image size over a range of distances, and the lens can focus at any position within that range during installation.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | Approx. 3.65 – 5.38 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | Approx. 4.39 – 6.45 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | Approx. 5.48 – 8.06 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | Approx. 7.31 – 10.75 m |
The distances above are clear distances from the front surface of the lens to the screen and do not include space behind the projector for cooling or cable connections. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual values should be verified through on-site measurement and confirmed in accordance with the manufacturer's manual.
Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: at the nearer end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; at the farther end, the edges are sharper and brightness is slightly lower. When site conditions permit, placing the lens near the middle of the range is recommended. After installation, first find the sharpest position using the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.
3. Compatible Models (21 Projectors)
The following table is taken from the manufacturer's compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are filled in from the model database; where the data is unavailable, “—” is shown, and no values are estimated.

For a model not on the list, please send us photographs of the projector nameplate and the existing lens so that we can verify compatibility—platforms of the same generation often share the same mount, but the risk of ordering based on a similar model name is not worth taking.
Throw Ratios by Model Series
The rated throw ratio differs by series when the same EN61 Zoom lens is installed on the projectors listed below, so select the value that applies to the actual projector series.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 1.70-2.50:1 |
4. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Confirm the projector panel and resolution. OEM lenses are designed for a specific panel size. If the panel specifications differ, the image circle cannot cover the full image, resulting in vignetting or edge illumination loss after installation.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 1.70-2.50:1; use the table in Section 2 to calculate the distance for your venue. A prime lens has no adjustment range, while even a zoom lens should leave 10–20 cm of margin at both ends.
- Check the mount and locking mechanism. The OEM lens is calibrated to the mount used by that projector series, and you must hear it lock into place after installation. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking, not by a problem with the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the existing lens nameplate, then send them to us. Verification against the actual items is the safest approach.
