Christie Original Lens 118-100114-01 Zoom is an OEM optical accessory for Christie professional projectors. It is a Long Throw lens with a 2.80-4.50:1 throw ratio. The OEM compatibility list covers 30 projector models; before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size, with no need to make do with adapter rings. The value of an OEM lens lies not in the extra figures in its specification sheet, but in the fact that it is calibrated at the factory to the optical path and mount of that projector series. Once installed, image-circle coverage, edge illumination, and focus travel all meet their design values, so there is no need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

I. Lens Specifications

The above specifications are subject to the OEM specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not shown in the specification table, please verify them with us based on the projector model. Placing an order solely because the model appears similar risks a lens that will not fit.
II. Calculating Installation Distance from the Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of installation distance to image width. This OEM lens is a zoom lens (2.80-4.50:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of installation distances, and it can be focused at any point within that range.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | Approx. 6.02 – 9.67 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | Approx. 7.22 – 11.61 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | Approx. 9.03 – 14.51 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | Approx. 12.04 – 19.35 m |
These figures represent the clear distance from the front of the lens to the screen and do not include space for rear projector cooling and cable connections. Figures are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual installation should be verified by on-site measurement and the OEM manual.
Image quality varies at the two ends of the zoom range: toward the close end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; toward the far end, the edges are sharper and brightness is slightly lower. Where the venue allows, use a position near the middle of the range. After installation, find the sharpest image using the focus ring, and then fine-tune the lens shift.

For compatibility with a model not listed, send us a photo of the projector nameplate and the existing lens for verification. Platforms of the same generation often share the same mount, but ordering based solely on a similar model carries unnecessary risk.
Throw Ratio by Projector Series
The nominal throw ratio of the same 118-100114-01 Zoom lens varies by projector series. Use the value for the series of the actual projector when selecting a lens.
| Projector Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 2.80-4.50:1 |
IV. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Confirm the projector chip and resolution. OEM lenses are designed for a specific panel size. If the panel specifications differ, the image circle cannot cover the full image, resulting in vignetting or light loss at the edges.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a nominal throw ratio of 2.80-4.50:1. Apply the table in Section II to the dimensions of your venue. A fixed-focus lens offers no adjustment margin, and even a zoom lens requires 10–20 cm of clearance at both ends.
- Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The OEM lens is calibrated to the mount of that projector series. After installation, you must hear it click into the locked position. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking rather than a problem with the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the lens nameplate and send them to us. Verification against the actual hardware is the safest approach.
