Vivitek OEM Lens D86-1113 Short Zoom 3 is an OEM optical accessory for Vivitek engineering projectors. It is a standard throw lens (Standard Throw) with a 1.10-1.30:1 throw ratio and is designed for the projection panels in the DU/DW/DX engineering series (measured in inches). The OEM compatibility list covers 10 models. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size; adapter rings are not needed. The value of an OEM lens lies not in the extra figures in the specification table, but in its factory calibration to the optical path and mount of that projector series: once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focusing travel all meet their design values, so keystone correction is not needed to compensate for image quality.

I. Lens Specifications

The above specifications are subject to the manufacturer's official specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not shown in the specification table, please contact us with the projector model. Ordering solely because the model numbers are similar risks receiving a lens that will not fit.
II. Calculating Installation Distance from the Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This OEM lens is a zoom lens (1.10-1.30:1), so each image size corresponds to a range of installation distances, and the lens can be focused at any point within that range.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | Approx. 2.37 – 2.79 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | Approx. 2.84 – 3.35 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | Approx. 3.55 – 4.19 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | Approx. 4.73 – 5.59 m |
The distances above are clear measurements from the lens front surface to the screen and do not include space behind the projector for cooling or cable connections. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual distances should be verified on site and in accordance with the manufacturer's manual.
Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: near the short-throw end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; near the long-throw end, the edges are sharper and the brightness is slightly lower. When the venue allows, aim for the middle of the range. After installation, turn the focus ring to find the sharpest image, then fine-tune the lens shift.
III. Compatible Models (10 Models)
The table below is taken from the OEM compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; where data is unavailable, “—” is shown rather than estimated.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| DU7099Z+ | — | — |
| DU7099Z-BK | 7600 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU7099Z-WH | 7600 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU7099Z-WH Plus | 7600 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU7199Z+ | — | — |
| DU7199Z-WH + | — | — |
| DU7299Z+ | — | — |
| DU7299Z-BK | 9600 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU7299Z-WH | 9600 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU7299Z-WH Plus | 9600 lumens | 1920x1200 |
For compatibility with a model not on the list, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens for verification. Platforms of the same generation often share a mount, but ordering based only on a similar model is not worth the risk.
Throw Ratio by Model Series
The rated throw ratio varies by series when the same D86-1113 Short Zoom 3 lens is used. When selecting a lens, use the value for the series of the actual projector.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 1.10-1.30:1 |
IV. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Confirm the panel size. The D86-1113 Short Zoom 3 is designed for the projection panels in the DU/DW/DX engineering series (measured in inches). On projectors with a different panel size or resolution, the image circle and edge illumination will be affected even if the lens fits the mount.
- Calculate the installation distance first. The rated throw ratio of this lens is 1.10-1.30:1. Use the table in Section 2 to match the dimensions of your venue. A fixed-focus lens offers no adjustment margin, and even a zoom lens requires a 10–20 cm allowance at both ends.
- Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The OEM lens is calibrated to the mount of this projector series. Once installed, it must audibly click into the locked position; a skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking, not by a problem with the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo of each nameplate—the projector and the existing lens—and send them to us. Verification against the actual hardware is the safest approach.
