Original Sony VPLL-Z4025 long-throw lens, 3.02-5.58:1 throw ratio, compatible with VPL-F725HZL, VPL-F720HZL, VPL-F1306ZL, VPL-F1006ZL. Bulk project orders.

Sony Genuine Lens VPLL-Z4025 is an original optical accessory for Sony professional projectors. It is a long-throw lens (Long Throw) with a throw ratio of 3.02-5.58:1, designed for 4-series-inch panels. The official compatibility list covers 4 models; before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size, with no need to make do with adapter rings. The value of an original lens lies not in the extra figures in a specification sheet, but in the fact that it is calibrated at the factory to the optical path and lens mount of that model series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focusing range all meet their design values, eliminating the need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.
I. Lens Specifications
| Brand | Sony (Sony) |
| Lens Model | VPLL-Z4025 |
| Throw Ratio | 3.02-5.58:1 |
| Product Type | Long Throw |

The above specifications are based on the original manufacturer’s specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and lens mount type not listed in the specifications table, please contact us with the projector model. Ordering solely on the basis of a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.
II. Converting Throw Ratio to Installation Distance
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This original lens is a zoom lens (3.02-5.58:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of installation distances; it can focus throughout that range.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | Approx. 6.49 – 12.00 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | Approx. 7.79 – 14.40 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | Approx. 9.74 – 18.00 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | Approx. 12.99 – 23.99 m |
These figures show the clear distance from the front of the lens to the screen and do not allow for the space behind the projector needed for ventilation and cable connections. They are calculated for a 16:10 image aspect ratio; actual values should be confirmed through on-site measurements and the original manufacturer’s manual.
Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: at the short end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; at the long end, the edges are sharper and brightness is slightly lower. Where the venue allows, use a position in the middle of the range. After installation, turn the focus ring to the sharpest position, then fine-tune the lens shift.
III. Compatible Projector Models (4 Models)
The table below is taken from the official model compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; values that cannot be obtained are shown as “—” and have not been estimated.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| VPL-F725HZL | 7000 lumens | WUXGA, 1920 x 1200 |
| VPL-F720HZL | 7000 lumens | WUXGA, 1920 x 1200 |
| VPL-F1306ZL | — | — |
| VPL-F1006ZL | — | — |
For models not on the list, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens so we can verify compatibility. Platforms of the same generation often share a mount, but ordering based on model similarity is not worth the risk.
Throw Ratio by Projector Model Series
The rated throw ratio of the same VPLL-Z4025 differs depending on the series listed below, so select the value according to the series of the actual projector.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 3.02-5.58:1 |
IV. Three Checks Before Replacement
- The panel size must match. VPLL-Z4025 is designed for 4-series-inch panels. On a projector with a different panel size or resolution, even if the lens mount fits, the image circle and edge illumination may be compromised.
- Calculate the installation distance first. The specified throw ratio of this lens is 3.02-5.58:1. Use the table in Section II to calculate the distance for your venue; a fixed-focus lens offers no adjustment margin, and even a zoom lens requires 10–20 cm of clearance at both ends.
- Check the lens mount and locking mechanism. The original lens is calibrated to the lens mount of that model series. After installation, you must hear the lens click into the locked position. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking, not by a problem with the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the nameplate on the existing lens, then send them to us. Verification against the actual hardware is the most reliable approach.
