Digital Projection SL-128 Long-Throw Lens for HIGHlite Laser 1080P & HIGHlite Laser WUXGA

Digital Projection Original Lens SL-128 is an original optical accessory for Digital Projection engineering projectors. It is a Long Throw lens with a throw ratio of 1.87-2.56:1 (zoom), matched to the 0.95inch 3DLP(HIGHlite) inch panel. The factory compatibility list covers 2 models, so before installation you only need to check the chassis model and panel size — there is no need to make do with adapter rings. The real value of an original lens does not lie in a few extra rows of numbers in the spec sheet, but in the fact that it is factory-calibrated to the optical path and mount of that series of chassis: once fitted, the image circle, edge illumination and focus travel are all at their design values, and there is no need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

The above specifications are subject to the original manufacturer's specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance and mount type that are not listed in the spec sheet, please confirm with us according to your chassis model; ordering on the basis of a similar model name carries the risk that the lens will not fit.

II. Converting Throw Ratio into Installation Distance

The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This original lens is a zoom lens (1.87-2.56:1 (zoom)), so a single image size corresponds to a range of distances, and any installation distance falling within that range can be focused properly.

Image SizeImage WidthRequired Installation Distance
100 inches2.15 mapprox. 4.02 – 5.50 m
120 inches2.58 mapprox. 4.82 – 6.60 m
150 inches3.22 mapprox. 6.03 – 8.26 m
200 inches4.30 mapprox. 8.04 – 11.01 m

The above is the net distance from the front of the lens to the screen and does not include the space needed for rear cooling and cabling. It is calculated for a 16:10 aspect ratio; in practice, on-site measurement and the original manufacturer's manual take precedence.

Image performance differs at the two ends of the zoom range: closer to the near end the image is brighter with slightly softer edges; closer to the far end the edges are crisper and brightness drops slightly. Where the venue allows, it is recommended to place the lens in the middle of the range; after installation, first find the sharpest position on the focus ring, then fine-tune the shift.

III. Compatible Models (2 models)

The table below is taken from the original manufacturer's compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are filled in from the model database and are shown as "—" when unavailable — no estimates are made.

For models outside the list, please send us photos of the chassis nameplate and the existing lens for verification — platforms of the same generation often share the same mount, but the risk of ordering on the basis of a similar model name is not worth taking.

Throw Ratios by Model Series

The rated throw ratio of the same SL-128 varies when it is fitted to the following series, so the value must be selected according to the series your projector actually belongs to.

IV. Three Checks Before Replacement

  • The panel size must match. SL-128 is designed for the 0.95inch 3DLP(HIGHlite) inch panel. Machines with a different panel size or a different resolution will suffer in image circle and edge illumination even if the mount accepts the lens.
  • Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 1.87-2.56:1 (zoom); use the table in Section II to work it out against your own venue dimensions. A fixed-focus lens has no margin at all, and even a zoom lens needs 10–20 cm of headroom at both ends.
  • Check the mount and the locking mechanism. The original lens is calibrated to the mount of that series of chassis, and you must hear it lock into place after installation. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by an incompletely locked lens, not by a fault in the lens itself.

If you are unsure, take one photo of the chassis nameplate and one photo of the existing lens nameplate and send them to us — checking against the actual items is the safest approach.
