Panasonic ET-EMU100 Ultra Short Throw Lens: Compatible with 19 Models Including PT-MZ20KL

Nov 02, 2026, 06:11:09 UTC

Panasonic Original Lens ET-EMU100 is a genuine optical accessory for Panasonic professional projectors. It is an Ultra Short Throw lens with a throw ratio of 0.330-0.353:1, designed for 1.0" 3LCD panels. The original compatibility list covers 19 projector models; simply verify your projector model and panel size before installation—no adapter rings needed. The value of an original lens isn't in having a few more rows of specs on a datasheet, but in being calibrated at the factory to match the optical path and mount of that projector series: once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel all perform to design specifications, with no need to compensate for image quality using keystone correction.

The above specifications are subject to the original manufacturer's specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange focal distance, and mount type not shown in the specification table, please verify with us based on your projector model—ordering based on model similarity alone carries the risk of incompatibility.

2. Converting Throw Ratio to Installation Distance

Throw ratio is the ratio of installation distance to image width. This original lens is a zoom lens (0.330-0.353:1), so the same image size corresponds to a range of distances; as long as installation falls within this range, focus can be achieved.

Image SizeImage WidthRequired Installation Distance
100 inches2.15 mApprox. 0.71 – 0.76 m
120 inches2.58 mApprox. 0.85 – 0.91 m
150 inches3.22 mApprox. 1.06 – 1.14 m
200 inches4.30 mApprox. 1.42 – 1.52 m

The above figures are the clear distance from the lens face to the screen, excluding rear ventilation and cabling space. Calculated for 16:10 aspect ratio; actual values are subject to on-site measurement and the original manufacturer's manual.

Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: toward the near end the image is brighter with slightly softer edges; toward the far end the edges are sharper with slightly reduced brightness. Where space permits, we recommend positioning within the middle of the range. After installation, first find the sharpest position on the focus ring, then fine-tune the shift.

3. Compatible Models (19)

The table below is taken from the original manufacturer's compatibility list; brightness and resolution are populated from the model database. Entries marked "—" indicate data unavailable and are not estimated.

For models not on the list, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens for verification—same-generation platforms often share mounts, but ordering based on model similarity is a risk not worth taking.

Throw Ratio Across Different Model Series

The same ET-EMU100 installed on the following series does not have the same nominal throw ratio; selection should be based on the actual series of your projector.

4. Three Things to Confirm Before Replacement

  • Panel size must match. The ET-EMU100 is designed for 1.0" 3LCD panels. Projectors with different panel sizes or resolutions may physically mount, but the image circle and edge illumination will be compromised.
  • Calculate installation distance first. This lens has a nominal throw ratio of 0.330-0.353:1; use the table in Section 2 to determine the distance for your venue. Fixed-focus lenses have no margin, and even with zoom, allow 10–20 cm at both ends.
  • Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The original lens is calibrated to the mount of that projector series; after installation, you must hear the lock click into place. Image skew and soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking, not the lens itself.

If unsure, take a photo of the projector nameplate and the existing lens nameplate and send them to us—verification against the actual hardware is the safest approach.
