Panasonic ET-EMW300 Short-Throw Lens for 19 Compatible Models

Panasonic Genuine Lens ET-EMW300 is an original optical accessory for Panasonic professional projectors. It is a short-throw lens with a throw ratio of 0.550-0.690:1 for 1.0" 3LCD panels. The official model compatibility list covers 19 models. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size; there is no need to make do with adapter rings. The value of a genuine lens lies not in the extra figures it adds to the specification table, but in its factory calibration to the optical path and mount of that projector series: once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel all match the design values, so keystone correction is unnecessary to compensate for image quality.

The manufacturer's specifications take precedence. Mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type are not listed in the specifications table. Please verify these details with us using the projector model; placing an order solely because the model numbers are similar carries the risk of an incompatible fit.

II. Calculating Installation Distance from Throw Ratio

The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This genuine lens is a zoom lens (0.550-0.690:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of distances, and any position within that range can be brought into focus.

Image SizeImage WidthRequired Installation Distance
100 inches2.15 mApprox. 1.18 – 1.48 m
120 inches2.58 mApprox. 1.42 – 1.78 m
150 inches3.22 mApprox. 1.77 – 2.23 m
200 inches4.30 mApprox. 2.37 – 2.97 m

These figures represent the clear distance from the front of the lens to the screen and do not include space for rear housing ventilation or cable connections. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; for actual installation, follow on-site measurements and the manufacturer's manual.

Image performance differs at the two ends of the zoom range: at the close end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; at the long end, the edges are sharper and brightness is slightly lower. Where the venue permits, aim for the middle of the range. After installation, first set the focus ring to the sharpest image position, then fine-tune the lens shift.

III. Compatible Models (19 Models)

The following table is taken from the official model compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; values that cannot be obtained are shown as "—", without estimation.

For compatibility with a model not on the list, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens for verification. Projectors from platforms of the same generation often share the same mount, but it is not worth taking the risk of ordering based only on a similar model number.

Throw Ratio by Projector Series

The nominal throw ratio of the same ET-EMW300 differs across the following projector series; when selecting, use the value for the series of the actual projector.

IV. Three Checks Before Replacement

  • Make sure the panel size matches. ET-EMW300 is designed for 1.0" 3LCD panels. On a projector with a different panel size or resolution, the image circle and edge illumination may be compromised even if the lens fits the mount.
  • Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 0.550-0.690:1. Use the table in Section 2 to calculate against your venue dimensions. A fixed-focus lens offers no adjustment margin, while a zoom lens should also leave 10–20 cm at both ends of the range.
  • Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The genuine lens is calibrated to the mount for that projector series, and you must hear it lock into place after installation. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by an incompletely locked lens, rather than a problem with the lens itself.

If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the existing lens nameplate and send them to us. Verification against the actual hardware is the safest approach.
