Vivitek D88-UWZ01 Ultra Wide Zoom Standard Throw Lens for 15 Models

Vivitek OEM Lens D88-UWZ01 Ultra Wide Zoom is an original optical accessory for Vivitek engineering projectors. It has a Standard Throw ratio of 0.75-0.93:1 and is designed for DU/DW/DX Engineering Series panels (in inches). The official compatibility list covers 15 models. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size; adapter rings are not necessary. The value of an OEM lens lies not in the extra figures in its specification sheet, but in the fact that it is calibrated at the factory to the optical path and mount of the corresponding projector series. Once installed, image circle coverage, edge illumination, and focus travel are all at their design values, so keystone correction is not needed to compensate for image quality.

The above specifications are subject to the manufacturer's official specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount format not shown in the specification table, please verify them with us using the projector model. Placing an order based only on a similar model number carries the risk that the lens will not fit.

II. Converting Throw Ratio to Installation Distance

The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This OEM lens is a zoom lens (0.75-0.93:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of installation distances, and the lens can focus anywhere within that range.

Image SizeImage WidthRequired Installation Distance
100 inches2.15 mApprox. 1.61 – 2.00 m
120 inches2.58 mApprox. 1.93 – 2.40 m
150 inches3.22 mApprox. 2.42 – 3.00 m
200 inches4.30 mApprox. 3.22 – 4.00 m

These figures represent the clear distance from the front surface of the lens to the screen and do not include clearance at the rear of the projector for ventilation and cable connections. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual distances must be verified on site and according to the manufacturer's manual.

Image quality varies between the two ends of the zoom range: the image is brighter with slightly softer edges toward the wide end, while edges are sharper and brightness slightly lower toward the telephoto end. Where the installation environment allows, use a position near the middle of the range. After installation, find the sharpest image using the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.

IV. Three Checks Before Replacement

  • Panel size must match. D88-UWZ01 Ultra Wide Zoom is designed for DU/DW/DX Engineering Series panels (in inches). Even if the mount accepts the lens, projectors with a different panel size or resolution may experience problems with image circle coverage and edge illumination.
  • Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a nominal throw ratio of 0.75-0.93:1. Apply the table in Section 2 to the dimensions of your installation site. A fixed-focus lens offers no adjustment margin, and a zoom lens should also allow an extra 10–20 cm at both ends of the range.
  • Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The OEM lens is calibrated to the mount used on projectors in this series, and you must hear it lock into place after installation. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking, not by a fault in the lens itself.

If you are unsure, send us one photo each of the projector nameplate and the nameplate on the existing lens. Verification against the actual hardware is the safest approach.
