Original Barco R9802241 High Performance Standard Zoom long-throw lens, 2.25-3.31:1 ratio, compatible with Medea, a Barco projector model. Available in bulk.

Barco Original Lens R9802241 High Performance Standard Zoom is an original optical accessory for Barco professional projectors. It is a long-throw lens (Long Throw) with a throw ratio of 2.25-3.31:1. The official compatibility list covers 1 model; before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size—no need to improvise with adapter rings. The value of an original lens lies not in the extra figures in its specification sheet, but in the fact that it is calibrated at the factory to the optical path and mount of that projector series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focusing travel all meet the design values, eliminating the need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

I. Lens Specifications
| Brand | Barco (Barco) |
| Lens Model | R9802241 High Performance Standard Zoom |
| Throw Ratio | 2.25-3.31:1 |
| Product Type | Long-throw lens (Long Throw) |
| Compatible Models | 1 projector |
| Warranty | 12 months; accidental damage is eligible for after-sales service, subject to the date shown on the shipping documents |
The above specifications are subject to the manufacturer's official specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not shown in the specification table, please provide the projector model so we can verify them. Ordering based solely on a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.
II. Calculating Installation Distance from the Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This original lens is a zoom lens (2.25-3.31:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of distances, and the lens can focus anywhere within that range when installed.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | Approx. 4.84 – 7.12 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | Approx. 5.80 – 8.54 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | Approx. 7.26 – 10.67 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | Approx. 9.67 – 14.23 m |
These figures represent the clear distance from the front of the lens to the screen and do not include space for rear cooling and cable connections. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual distances should be confirmed by on-site measurement and the manufacturer's manual.
Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: near the short-throw end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; near the long-throw end, the edges are sharper and brightness decreases slightly. Where site conditions allow, use the middle of the range. After installation, first find the sharpest image using the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.
III. Compatible Models (1 projector)
The table below is taken from the official compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are filled in from the model database; unavailable data are shown as “—” and are not estimated.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| Medea | 6500 lumens | 3840x2160 |
To verify whether a model not on the list is compatible, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens. Projector platforms of the same generation often share the same mount, but ordering based on a similar model is not worth the risk.
Throw Ratio by Model Series
The nominal throw ratio of the same R9802241 High Performance Standard Zoom varies across the series listed below, so the value must be selected according to the series of the actual projector.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 2.25-3.31:1 |
IV. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Confirm the projector chip and resolution. Original lenses are designed for a specific panel size. If the panel specifications differ, the image circle cannot cover the full image, resulting in vignetting or light loss at the edges.
- Calculate the installation distance first. With a nominal throw ratio of 2.25-3.31:1, use the table in Section II to calculate the distance for your site dimensions. Fixed-focus lenses offer no adjustment margin, and zoom lenses should also allow an extra 10–20 cm at both ends.
- Verify the mount and locking mechanism. This original lens is calibrated to the mount of that projector series and must audibly lock into place after installation. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking, not by a problem with the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the current lens nameplate and send them to us. Verification against the actual equipment is the safest approach.
