Genuine Vivitek D89-UWZ02 Ultra Wide Zoom lens, standard throw, 0.74-1.08:1 throw ratio; fits DK8155Z, DU8053Z, DU8055Z and DU8057Z. Bulk orders available.

Vivitek Genuine Lens D89-UWZ02 Ultra Wide Zoom is a factory-supplied optical accessory for Vivitek engineering projectors. It is a standard-throw lens (Standard Throw) with a throw ratio of 0.74-1.08:1, designed for the inch-size panels in the DU/DW/DX engineering series. The factory compatibility list covers 4 models; before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size—no adapter rings are needed. The value of a genuine lens lies not in the extra rows of specifications, but in its factory calibration to the optical path and mount of that projector series: once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel are all at their design values, so there is no need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

1. Lens Specifications

The above specifications are subject to the manufacturer’s specifications. Mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type are not shown in the specifications table; please verify them with us using the projector model number, as ordering solely on the basis of a similar model carries a risk of fitment failure.
2. Calculating Installation Distance from Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This genuine lens is a zoom lens (0.74-1.08:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of installation distances. The lens can be focused at any position within that range during installation.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | Approx. 1.59 – 2.32 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | Approx. 1.91 – 2.79 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | Approx. 2.39 – 3.48 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | Approx. 3.18 – 4.64 m |
These figures represent the clear distance from the front surface of the lens to the screen and do not allow for rear projector ventilation or cable-management space. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; in practice, follow on-site measurements and the manufacturer’s manual.
Image performance differs at the two ends of the zoom range: toward the close end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; toward the far end, the edges are more defined and the brightness is slightly lower. Where the venue allows, position the lens in the middle of the range. After installation, find the sharpest position using the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.
3. Compatible Models (4 Models)
The table below is taken from the factory compatibility list. Brightness and resolution have been populated from the model database; unavailable entries are marked —, and no values are estimated.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| DK8155Z | 15000 lumens | 4K (3840 x 2160) |
| DU8053Z | 14000 lumens | WUXGA,1920 x 1200 |
| DU8055Z | 16000 lumens | WUXGA,1920 x 1200 |
| DU8057Z | 23,750 | WUXGA,1920 x 1200 |
To determine whether a model outside the list is compatible, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens for verification. Platforms of the same generation often share the same mount, but the risk of ordering based solely on a similar model number is not worth taking.
Throw Ratio by Model Series
When the same D89-UWZ02 Ultra Wide Zoom is used with the series listed below, the rated throw ratio varies. Select the value based on the series of the actual projector.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 0.74-1.08:1 |
4. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Confirm that the panel size matches. D89-UWZ02 Ultra Wide Zoom is designed for DU/DW/DX engineering-series panels (inches). Even if the mount accepts the lens, projectors with different panel sizes or resolutions may have problems with the image circle and edge illumination.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 0.74-1.08:1; use the table in Section 2 to calculate the distance for your venue. Fixed-focus lenses offer no adjustment margin, while zoom lenses should also allow 10–20 cm at both ends of the range.
- Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The genuine lens is calibrated to the mount used on projectors in this series, and you must hear it click into its locked position after installation. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking, rather than a problem with the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the existing lens nameplate, then send them to us. Verification against the actual hardware is the safest approach.
