Digital Projection SL-131 Long Throw Lens for HIGHlite Laser 1080P and HIGHlite Laser WUXGA

Digital Projection Original Lens SL-131 is an original optical accessory for Digital Projection professional projectors. It is a long-throw (Long Throw) lens with a throw ratio of 6.92-10.36:1 (ultra-long throw), designed for the 0.95inch 3DLP(HIGHlite) panel. The factory compatibility list covers 2 models; before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size—there is no need to improvise with adapter rings. The value of an original lens lies not in the extra figures in a specification sheet, but in the fact that it is calibrated at the factory to the optical path and mount of that series: once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focusing travel all match the design values, with no need to compensate for image quality using keystone correction.

The above specifications are subject to the original manufacturer’s specifications. Mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not shown in the specification table should be verified with us based on the projector model; ordering directly based on a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.

2. Converting Throw Ratio to Installation Distance

The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This original lens is a zoom lens (6.92-10.36:1 (ultra-long throw)); a given image size corresponds to a range of distances, and the lens can be focused anywhere within that range during installation.

Image SizeImage WidthRequired Installation Distance
100 inches2.15 mapprox. 14.88 – 22.27 m
120 inches2.58 mapprox. 17.85 – 26.73 m
150 inches3.22 mapprox. 22.32 – 33.41 m
200 inches4.30 mapprox. 29.76 – 44.55 m

The above distances are the clear distances from the front face of the lens to the screen and do not include space for rear cooling and cabling. These figures are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual distances should be confirmed through on-site measurement and in accordance with the original manufacturer’s manual.

Image quality varies at the two ends of the zoom range: toward the short-throw end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; toward the long-throw end, the edges are sharper and the image is slightly dimmer. When venue conditions allow, use the middle of the range; after installation, first find the sharpest position on the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.

3. Compatible Models (2 units)

The table below is taken from the factory compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; where the data is unavailable, “—” is shown, and no assumptions are made.

To check whether a model outside the list can be used, send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens—mounts are often shared across platforms of the same generation, but the risks of ordering based on a similar model outweigh the benefits.

Throw Ratios for Different Model Series

The rated throw ratio differs by series when the same SL-131 is installed on the series listed below, so select the value corresponding to the actual projector series.

4. Three Checks Before Replacement

  • Make sure the panel size matches. SL-131 is designed for the 0.95inch 3DLP(HIGHlite) panel. Machines with a different panel size or resolution may experience problems with the image circle and edge illumination even if the mount fits.
  • Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 6.92-10.36:1 (ultra-long throw); use the table in Section 2 to calculate the distance for your venue. A fixed-focus lens offers no adjustment margin, and even a zoom lens should allow an additional 10–20 cm at both ends.
  • Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The original lens is calibrated to the mount of the relevant projector series, and you must hear it click into the locked position after installation. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking, not by the lens itself.

If you are unsure, photograph both the projector nameplate and the existing lens nameplate and send them to us; verification against the physical items is the safest approach.
