JVC VSL-2010 Fixed Standard Throw Lens: Compatible with DLA-VS4500 and DLA-VS4700

JVC Genuine Lens VSL-2010 Fixed is an OEM optical accessory for JVC engineering projectors, with a standard throw ratio of 0.99:1. The official compatibility list covers 2 models. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size; no adapter ring workaround is needed. The value of an OEM lens lies not in the extra figures on its specification sheet, but in the fact that its optical path and mount are calibrated at the factory for that model series: once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focusing travel are all at their design values, so there is no need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

The above specifications are subject to the manufacturer's official specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not shown in the specifications table, please verify them with us based on the projector model. Ordering solely on the basis of a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.

II. Converting Throw Ratio into Installation Distance

A throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This OEM lens has a fixed focal length (0.99:1), so the installation distance varies linearly with image size, with no adjustment margin; accurate measurements are essential before installation.

Image SizeImage WidthRequired Installation Distance
100 inches2.15 mApprox. 2.13 m
120 inches2.58 mApprox. 2.55 m
150 inches3.22 mApprox. 3.19 m
200 inches4.30 mApprox. 4.26 m

The distances above are clear distances from the front of the lens to the screen and do not account for space behind the projector for ventilation and cabling. These values are calculated for a 16:10 image; the actual installation distance should be confirmed by on-site measurement and the manufacturer's manual.

III. Compatible Models (2 Models)

The following table is taken from the official compatibility list. Brightness and resolution have been populated from the model database; where the data is unavailable, an em dash (—) is shown rather than an estimate.

For compatibility with a model not on the list, please send us a photo of the projector nameplate and the existing lens so that we can verify it—models from the same generation often share the same mount, but the risks of ordering based on similar model names are not worth taking.

Throw Ratio by Model Series

The rated throw ratio varies when the same VSL-2010 Fixed lens is used with the series listed below, so use the value for the series of the actual projector when selecting a lens.

IV. Three Things to Confirm Before Replacement

  • Confirm the projector chip and resolution. OEM lenses are designed for a specific panel size. If the panel specifications differ, the image circle will not cover the full image, resulting in vignetting or edge light loss after installation.
  • Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 0.99:1. Use the table in Section II to calculate the distance for your installation space. Because this is a fixed-focus lens with no adjustment margin, even a zoom lens should allow an extra 10–20 cm at both ends.
  • Verify the lens mount and locking mechanism. The OEM lens is calibrated to the mount of that model series, and you must hear it lock into place after installation. A skewed image or soft edges usually indicates that the lens is not fully locked, rather than a problem with the lens itself.

If you are unsure, take one photo each of the projector nameplate and the lens nameplate and send them to us. Verification against the physical products is the safest approach.
