Genuine Sony VPLL-Z4111 standard-throw lens with 1.30-1.96:1 throw ratio, fits VPL-F1306ZL, VPL-F1006ZL, VPL-F1301ZL and VPL-F1001ZL. Available for bulk orders.

Sony Original Lens VPLL-Z4111 is an original optical accessory for Sony engineering projectors. It offers a standard throw (Standard Throw), a throw ratio of 1.30-1.96:1, and is designed for 4-series-inch panels. The factory compatibility list covers 4 models; before installation, simply verify the chassis model and panel size instead of resorting to adapter rings. The value of a genuine factory lens lies not in the extra figures on a specification sheet, but in its factory calibration to the optical path and lens mount of that projector series. Once installed, image-circle coverage, edge illumination, and focus travel all meet their design values, with no need for keystone correction to compensate for image quality.
1. Lens Specifications
| Brand | Sony (Sony) |
| Lens Model | VPLL-Z4111 |
| Throw Ratio | 1.30-1.96:1 |
| Product Type | Standard Throw |
| Compatible Panel | 4-series-inch |
| Compatible Models | 4 models |
| Warranty | 12 months; non-accidental damage is eligible for after-sales service, based on the date on the sales invoice |
The above specifications are subject to the factory specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not listed in the specifications table, please contact us with the chassis model for verification. Ordering based solely on a similar model risks a lens that will not fit.
2. Converting Throw Ratio to Installation Distance
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This genuine factory lens is a zoom lens (1.30-1.96:1), so each image size corresponds to a range of distances; it can focus anywhere within that range during installation.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | Approx. 2.79 – 4.21 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | Approx. 3.35 – 5.06 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | Approx. 4.19 – 6.32 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | Approx. 5.59 – 8.43 m |
These are clear distances from the front of the lens to the screen and do not allow for ventilation behind the chassis or space for cable connections. The figures are calculated for a 16:10 image; in practice, follow on-site measurements and the factory manual.
Image quality varies at the two ends of the zoom range: toward the short end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; toward the long end, the edges are better defined and brightness decreases slightly. Where the venue allows, use the middle of the range. After installation, first find the sharpest setting on the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.
3. Compatible Models (4 Models)
The following table is taken from the factory compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; values that were unavailable are shown as —, and no estimates have been made.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| VPL-F1306ZL | — | — |
| VPL-F1006ZL | — | — |
| VPL-F1301ZL | — | — |
| VPL-F1001ZL | — | — |
To check whether a model outside the list can be used, send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens. Projector platforms of the same generation often share a mount, but ordering based on a similar model is not worth the risk.
Throw Ratio by Projector Series
The same VPLL-Z4111 has different nominal throw ratios depending on the series listed below, so base your selection on the series of the actual projector.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 1.30-1.96:1 |
4. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Confirm the panel size. VPLL-Z4111 is designed for 4-series-inch panels. Even if the lens mount fits, a projector with a different panel size or resolution can have image-circle coverage and edge-illumination problems.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a nominal throw ratio of 1.30-1.96:1. Use the table in Section 2 to calculate against your own venue dimensions; a fixed-focal-length lens offers no adjustment margin, and even a zoom lens should allow 10–20 cm of margin at each end of its range.
- Verify the mount and lock. The factory lens is calibrated to the lens mount of this projector series, and you must hear the lock engage fully after installation. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by an incompletely engaged lock, not by a problem with the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the nameplate on the existing lens and send them to us. Verification against the physical items is the safest approach.
