Digital Projection ILSH-07 Short-Throw Lens Guide: E-Vision 8500 & Titan 8700

Digital Projection Genuine Lens ILSH-07 is the factory optical accessory for Digital Projection professional projectors. It is a short-throw (Short Throw) lens with a 0.75:1 (fixed-focus) throw ratio, designed for the 0.95inch 3DLP(E-Vision/Titan) panel. The factory compatibility list covers 2 models. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size; no adapter ring workaround is needed. The value of a factory lens lies not in the extra figures on a specification sheet, but in its factory calibration to the optical path and mount of the corresponding projector series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel all meet their design values, eliminating the need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

The above specifications are subject to the factory specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not listed in the specifications, please check the projector model with us. Placing an order directly based on a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.

II. Calculating Installation Distance from the Throw Ratio

The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This factory lens has a fixed throw ratio (0.75:1 (fixed-focus)), so the installation distance varies linearly with the image size, with no adjustment allowance. Accurate measurements are essential before installation.

Image SizeImage WidthRequired Installation Distance
100 inches2.15 mapprox. 1.61 m
120 inches2.58 mapprox. 1.93 m
150 inches3.22 mapprox. 2.42 m
200 inches4.30 mapprox. 3.22 m

The above figures represent the clear distance from the front surface of the lens to the screen and do not account for clearance for rear cooling and cabling. The calculations are based on a 16:10 image; in practice, rely on on-site measurements and the factory manual.

III. Compatible Models (2 projectors)

The following table is taken from the factory compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; where the data is unavailable, “—” is shown, and no values are guessed.

ModelBrightnessResolution
E-Vision 8500——
Titan 8700——

To determine whether a model outside the list is compatible, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens. Projectors from the same generation often share the same mount, but placing an order based solely on a similar model is not worth the risk.

Throw Ratios by Model Series

The rated throw ratio varies by series when the same ILSH-07 is installed on the series listed below. Select the value based on the series of the actual projector.

IV. Three Checks Before Replacement

  • Confirm the panel size. ILSH-07 is designed for the 0.95inch 3DLP(E-Vision/Titan) panel. Even if the mount fits, a projector with a different panel size or resolution may experience problems with the image circle and edge illumination.
  • Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 0.75:1 (fixed-focus). Use the table in Section II to match the dimensions of your installation site. A fixed-focus lens has no adjustment allowance, while even a zoom lens requires 10–20 cm of clearance at both ends.
  • Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The factory lens is calibrated to the mount of the corresponding projector series. After installation, you must hear the lens lock into place. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking rather than a problem with the lens itself.

If you are unsure, send us one photo of the projector nameplate and one photo of the current lens nameplate. Verification against the actual equipment is the safest approach.
