NEC NP39ML-4K Fixed UST Lens: Compatible with PX1005QL-B, PX1005QL-B-18, PX1005QL-W, PX1005QL-W-18

NEC Genuine Lens NP39ML-4K Fixed is a factory-supplied optical accessory for NEC professional projectors. It is an ultra-short-throw (Ultra Short Throw) lens with a throw ratio of 0.38:1. The manufacturer's model compatibility list covers 4 models; before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size—there is no need to make do with adapter rings. The value of a genuine lens lies not in extra rows of specifications, but in its factory calibration to the optical path and lens mount of that model series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focusing travel all meet their design specifications, so there is no need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

These specifications are subject to the manufacturer's specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and lens mount type not shown in the table, please contact us with the projector model. Ordering solely because the model numbers are similar carries the risk that the lens will not fit.

2. Installation Distance Based on Throw Ratio

The throw ratio is the installation distance divided by the image width. This genuine lens has a fixed focal length (0.38:1), so the installation distance changes linearly with image size and provides no adjustment margin. Accurate measurements are essential before installation.

Image SizeImage WidthRequired Installation Distance
100 inches2.15 mapprox. 0.82 m
120 inches2.58 mapprox. 0.98 m
150 inches3.22 mapprox. 1.23 m
200 inches4.30 mapprox. 1.63 m

These figures represent the clear distance from the front surface of the lens to the screen and do not include space behind the projector for cooling or cable connections. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual values must be verified on site and in accordance with the manufacturer's manual.

3. Compatible Projector Models (4 Units)

The table below is taken from the manufacturer's model compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; unavailable values are shown as “—” and are not estimated.

To confirm whether a model outside the list is compatible, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and the current lens. Models from the same generation often share the same lens mount, but the risk of ordering based solely on a similar model is not worth taking.

Throw Ratios by Model Series

The specified throw ratio varies by model series when the same NP39ML-4K Fixed lens is used. Select the value for the series of the actual projector.

4. Three Checks Before Replacement

  • Confirm the projector's imaging chips and resolution. Genuine lenses are designed for a specific panel size. If the panel specifications differ, the image circle cannot cover the full image, resulting in vignetting or light loss at the edges after installation.
  • Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a specified throw ratio of 0.38:1; use the table in Section 2 to calculate the distance for your installation space. A fixed-focus lens provides no adjustment margin, and even a zoom lens requires 10–20 cm of clearance at both ends of its range.
  • Verify the lens mount and locking mechanism. Genuine lenses are calibrated to the mount of the relevant model series, and you must hear the lens click into place after installation. A skewed image or soft edges is usually caused by incomplete locking rather than a problem with the lens itself.

If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the existing lens nameplate and send them to us. Verification against the physical units is the most reliable approach.
