Vivitek genuine D98-1520 Standard Zoom lens (standard throw), 1.50-2.00:1 ratio, suited to 1 Vivitek projector model, including DU9900Z-BK. Bulk orders available.

Vivitek OEM Lens D98-1520 Standard Zoom is an OEM optical accessory for Vivitek engineering projectors. It features a standard throw (Standard Throw), a throw ratio of 1.50-2.00:1, and corresponds to the panel sizes of the DU/DW/DX engineering series (in inches). The OEM compatibility list covers 1 model. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size; there is no need to rely on an adapter ring. The value of an OEM lens lies not in the extra rows of figures in its specifications, but in the fact that it is calibrated at the factory to the optical path and mount of the projectors in that series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel are all at their design values, eliminating the need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

The above specifications are subject to the OEM specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not shown in the specifications table, please verify them with us using the projector model. Ordering solely on the basis of a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.
2. Calculating Installation Distance from Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This OEM lens is a zoom lens (1.50-2.00:1), so each image size corresponds to a range of installation distances. It can be focused anywhere within that range during installation.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | approx. 3.22 – 4.30 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | approx. 3.87 – 5.16 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | approx. 4.84 – 6.45 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | approx. 6.45 – 8.60 m |
These figures represent the clear distance from the front of the lens to the screen and do not account for space behind the projector for cooling and cable connections. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual distances should be confirmed through on-site measurements and the OEM manual.
Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: near the short-throw end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; near the long-throw end, the edges are sharper and the image is slightly dimmer. Where the venue allows, we recommend positioning the lens in the middle of the range. After installation, first find the sharpest image using the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.
3. Compatible Models (1 model)
The table below is taken from the OEM compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; where data is unavailable, — is shown, with no assumptions made.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| DU9900Z-BK | 22000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
For compatibility with models not on the list, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and existing lens for verification. Platforms from the same generation often share the same mount, but the risk of ordering based solely on a similar model is not worth it.
Throw Ratio by Model Series
The rated throw ratio differs when the same D98-1520 Standard Zoom lens is installed on the series listed below. For model selection, use the value for the series to which the actual projector belongs.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 1.50-2.00:1 |
4. Three Checks Before Replacement
- The panel size must match. D98-1520 Standard Zoom is designed for the panel sizes of the DU/DW/DX engineering series (in inches). Even if the mount fits, projectors with a different panel size or resolution may experience problems with the image circle and edge illumination.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 1.50-2.00:1. Use the table in Section 2 to calculate the distance for your venue. A fixed-focus lens offers no adjustment range, and even a zoom lens should allow a 10–20 cm margin at both ends.
- Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The OEM lens is calibrated to the mount used on projectors in this series. After installation, it must audibly click into the locked position. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking, rather than a fault in the lens itself.
If you are unsure, photograph the projector nameplate and lens nameplate and send the photos to us. Verification against the actual hardware is the safest approach.
