Original Vivitek D98-2240 Long Zoom lens, 2.40-4.00:1 throw ratio, compatible with DU9000. Authorized supply; bulk orders for projects available.

Vivitek Original Lens D98-2240 Long Zoom is an original optical accessory for Vivitek engineering projectors. It belongs to the long-throw (Long Throw) category, with a throw ratio of 2.40-4.00:1, and is matched to the DU/DW/DX engineering-series inch panels. The factory compatibility list covers 1 model — simply check the body model and panel size before installation, no adapter rings needed. The value of an original lens is not a few extra rows of figures on a spec sheet, but that it is calibrated from the factory to the optical path and bayonet mount of that series of chassis: once mounted, image circle, edge illumination and focus travel are all at their design values, so there is no need to compensate for image quality with keystone correction.

1. Lens Specifications
| Brand | Vivitek (Vivitek) |
| Lens Model | D98-2240 Long Zoom |
| Throw Ratio | 2.40-4.00:1 |
| Product Type | Long Throw |
| Supported Panels | DU/DW/DX engineering series (inches) |
| Covered Models | 1 unit |
| Warranty | 12 months; after-sales service applies to non-human damage, based on the date shown on the delivery receipt |
The above specifications are subject to the original factory specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance and mount type not listed in the spec sheet, please verify with us using the chassis model — ordering directly based on a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.
2. Converting Throw Ratio into Installation Distance
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This original lens is a zoom lens (2.40-4.00:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of distances, and any position within that range will focus properly.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | approx. 5.16 – 8.60 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | approx. 6.19 – 10.32 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | approx. 7.74 – 12.90 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | approx. 10.32 – 17.20 m |
The above is the clear distance from the front of the lens to the screen, without allowing for the heat-dissipation and cabling space at the rear of the chassis. Figures are calculated for a 16:10 aspect ratio; in practice, on-site measurement and the original manufacturer's manual take precedence.
Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: closer to the near end the image is brighter with slightly softer edges; closer to the far end the edges are sharper and brightness drops slightly. Where the venue allows, it is recommended to place the lens near the middle of the range — after installation, first find the sharpest position on the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.
3. Compatible Models (1 unit)
The table below is taken from the original factory compatibility list; brightness and resolution are filled in from the model database, and entries that cannot be retrieved are marked "—" rather than guessed.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| DU9000 | 12000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
For models outside this list, please send us a photo of the chassis nameplate and the existing lens so we can verify compatibility — platforms of the same generation often share the same mount, but the risk of ordering on the basis of a similar model name is not worth taking.
Throw Ratio by Model Series
The nominal throw ratio differs when the same D98-2240 Long Zoom is used on the series below, so model selection must be based on the series to which the actual chassis belongs.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 2.40-4.00:1 |
4. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Make sure the panel size matches. The D98-2240 Long Zoom is designed for DU/DW/DX engineering-series inch panels. Machines with a different panel size or a different resolution may physically mount, but the image circle and edge illumination will be affected.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a nominal throw ratio of 2.40-4.00:1 — use the table in Section 2 to work it out against the dimensions of your own venue; a fixed-focus lens has no margin, and even a zoom lens needs 10–20 cm of allowance at both ends.
- Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The original lens is calibrated to the bayonet mount of that chassis series, and you must hear it click into the locked position after installation; a skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by an incompletely locked mount rather than by the lens itself.
If you are unsure, send us one photo of the chassis nameplate and one of the current lens nameplate, and we will verify everything against the actual hardware.
