NEC Genuine Lens NP45ZL Ultra Wide Zoom is an OEM optical accessory for NEC professional projectors, featuring a standard throw (Standard Throw) and a 0.90-1.20:1 throw ratio. The factory model compatibility list covers four models. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size—there is no need to make do with adapter rings. The value of an OEM lens lies not in the extra rows of specifications, but in the fact that it is calibrated at the factory to the optical path and mount of that projector series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel all meet their designed values, so there is no need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

1. Lens Specifications
| Brand | NEC (NEC) |
| Lens Model | NP45ZL Ultra Wide Zoom |
| Throw Ratio | 0.90-1.20:1 |
| Product Type | Standard Throw (Standard Throw) |
| Compatible Projector Models | 4 Models |
| Warranty | 12 months; damage not caused by the user is eligible for after-sales service, based on the date shown on the shipping documents |
These specifications are subject to the original manufacturer's specifications. Mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type are not listed in the specifications table. Please verify them with us using the exact projector model; placing an order based solely on a similar model risks a fit issue.
2. Calculating Installation Distance from Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This OEM lens is a zoom lens (0.90-1.20:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of installation distances, and it can focus at any distance within that range.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | Approximately 1.94 – 2.58 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | Approximately 2.32 – 3.10 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | Approximately 2.90 – 3.87 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | Approximately 3.87 – 5.16 m |
The distances above are clear distances from the front surface of the lens to the screen and do not include clearance at the rear of the projector for ventilation and cable connections. Calculated for a 16:10 image, actual distances should be verified on site and against the manufacturer's instructions.
Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: near the short end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; near the long end, the edges are sharper and brightness is slightly lower. Where the venue allows, placing the projector in the middle of the range is recommended. After installation, first use the focus ring to find the sharpest image, then fine-tune the lens shift.
3. Compatible Projector Models (4 Models)
The list below is taken from the factory model compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the projector model database; where the data is unavailable, “—” is shown, with no assumptions made.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| PX2000UL | 19000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| PX2000UL-47ZL | 19000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| PX2201UL | 20500 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| PX2201UL-48ZL | 20500 lumens | 1920x1200 |
To check compatibility with a model not on the list, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens for verification. Projector platforms of the same generation often share the same lens mount, but ordering based on a similar model carries risks that are not worth taking.
Throw Ratios by Projector Series
The stated throw ratio differs when the same NP45ZL Ultra Wide Zoom is installed on the following series. For lens selection, use the value for the series of the actual projector.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 0.90-1.20:1 |
4. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Confirm the projector's imaging chip and resolution. The OEM lens is designed for a specific panel size. With a different panel specification, its image circle cannot cover the full image, resulting in vignetting or edge light loss after installation.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 0.90-1.20:1. Use the table in Section 2 to calculate the distance for your installation site. Fixed-focus lenses provide no adjustment margin, and zoom lenses should also allow an extra 10–20 cm at both ends of the range.
- Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The OEM lens is calibrated to the lens mount for that projector series, and you must hear it lock into place after installation. A skewed image or soft edges are usually due to incomplete locking rather than a problem with the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the existing lens nameplate and send them to us. Verification against the physical products is the safest approach.
