Vivitek Original Lens D98-UST01 Ultra Short Fixed is a factory-supplied optical accessory for Vivitek engineering projectors. It uses Ultra Short Throw technology with a 0.38:1 throw ratio and is designed for inch-size panels in the DU/DW/DX engineering series. The factory compatibility list covers three projector models. Before installation, check the projector model and panel size; no adapter ring workaround is needed. The value of an original lens lies not in the extra figures in its specification sheet, but in the fact that it is factory-calibrated to the optical path and mount of the corresponding projector series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel all meet their design values, so there is no need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

1. Lens Specifications
| Brand | Vivitek (Vivitek) |
| Lens Model | D98-UST01 Ultra Short Fixed |
| Throw Ratio | 0.38:1 |
| Product Type | Ultra Short Throw |
| Compatible Panels | DU/DW/DX engineering series, inch sizes |
| Compatible Models | 3 models |
| Warranty | 12 months; damage not caused by the user is eligible for after-sales service, subject to the date on the shipping invoice |
These specifications are subject to the factory specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not listed in the specifications, please contact us with the projector model so we can verify them; ordering based solely on a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.
2. Throw Ratio and Installation Distance
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This original lens has a fixed focus (0.38:1), so the installation distance varies linearly with the image size, with no adjustment margin. Accurate measurements must be taken before installation.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | Approx. 0.82 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | Approx. 0.98 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | Approx. 1.23 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | Approx. 1.63 m |
These figures represent the clear distance from the front surface of the lens to the screen and do not include space behind the projector for cooling or cable connections. They are calculated for a 16:10 aspect ratio; actual on-site measurements and the factory manual take precedence.
3. Compatible Models (3 Models)
The table below is taken from the factory compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; values that cannot be retrieved are marked “—”, and no estimates have been made.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| DU9053Z-BK | 21000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU9055Z-BK | 24000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU9059Z | 30000 lumens | WUXGA,1920 x 1200 |
For a model outside the list, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens so we can verify compatibility. Projectors based on the same-generation platform often share the same mount, but ordering based solely on a similar model number is not worth the risk.
Throw Ratio by Projector Series
Although the same D98-UST01 Ultra Short Fixed lens is used across the series listed below, the nominal throw ratio varies by series. Select the value corresponding to the series of the projector you actually own.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 0.38:1 |
4. Three Checks Before Replacement
- The panel size must match. D98-UST01 Ultra Short Fixed was designed for DU/DW/DX engineering-series panels (inch sizes). Even if the lens mount fits, projectors with a different panel size or resolution may have image-circle and edge-illumination issues.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a nominal throw ratio of 0.38:1. Use the table in Section 2 to calculate the installation distance for your site. A fixed-focus lens offers no adjustment margin, and even a zoom lens should have 10–20 cm of clearance at both ends of its range.
- Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The original lens is factory-calibrated to the mount used on that projector series, and you must hear the lock engage fully after installation. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking rather than a fault with the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the existing lens nameplate, then send them to us. Verification against the actual hardware is the most reliable approach.
