Vivitek Original Lens D99-0912 Ultra Wide Zoom is an original optical accessory for Vivitek engineering projectors. It is a standard-throw lens (Standard Throw) with a throw ratio of 0.90-1.20:1, designed for DU/DW/DX engineering-series panels (in inches). The official model compatibility list covers 4 models. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size; no adapter ring workaround is required. The value of an original lens lies not in the additional figures in the specification table, but in the fact that it is calibrated at the factory to the optical path and mount of projectors in that series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focusing travel all match their design values, eliminating the need for keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

I. Lens Specifications
| Brand | Vivitek (Vivitek) |
| Lens Model | D99-0912 Ultra Wide Zoom |
| Throw Ratio | 0.90-1.20:1 |
| Product Type | Standard Throw Lens (Standard Throw) |
| Compatible Panels | DU/DW/DX engineering-series panels (in inches) |
| Compatible Projector Models | 4 projector models |
| Warranty | 12 months; after-sales service is available for damage not caused by the user, based on the date shown on the shipping document |
The above specifications are subject to the manufacturer's official specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not shown in the specification table, please check with us based on the projector model. Ordering solely on the basis of a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.
II. Throw Ratio and Installation Distance Calculation
The throw ratio is the installation distance divided by the image width. This original lens is a zoom lens (0.90-1.20:1), so each image size corresponds to a range of installation distances. The lens can be focused at any distance within that range during installation.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | approx. 1.94 – 2.58 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | approx. 2.32 – 3.10 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | approx. 2.90 – 3.87 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | approx. 3.87 – 5.16 m |
The above figures represent the clear distance from the lens front face to the projection screen and do not allow for rear-housing cooling or cable-routing space. The calculations are based on a 16:10 image; in practice, rely on on-site measurements and the manufacturer's manual.
Image quality differs at each end of the zoom range: toward the close end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; toward the far end, the edges are sharper and brightness decreases slightly. Where the installation site permits, use the middle of the range. After installation, first find the sharpest setting on the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.
III. Compatible Projector Models (4 Models)
The table below is taken from the official model compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; where unavailable, they are marked as “—” and are not estimated.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| DU9053Z-BK | 21000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU9055Z-BK | 24000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU9057Z-BK | 27000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU9059Z | 30000 lumens | WUXGA,1920 x 1200 |
For models not on the list, send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens for verification. Projectors based on the same-generation platform often share the same mount, but the risk of ordering based only on a similar model is not worth taking.
Throw Ratios for Different Model Series
When the same D99-0912 Ultra Wide Zoom lens is installed on the series listed below, the rated throw ratio varies. Select the value corresponding to the series of the actual projector.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 0.90-1.20:1 |
IV. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Make sure the panel size matches. D99-0912 Ultra Wide Zoom is designed for DU/DW/DX engineering-series panels (in inches). A projector with a different panel size or resolution may cause problems with the image circle and edge illumination, even if the lens physically fits the mount.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 0.90-1.20:1. Use the table in Section II to calculate the distance for your installation site. A fixed-focal-length lens offers no adjustment margin, and a zoom lens should also allow 10–20 cm of clearance at both ends of the range.
- Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The original lens is calibrated to the mount used on projectors in this series. After installation, you must hear the lens click fully into the locked position. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking rather than a problem with the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the existing lens nameplate, then send them to us. Verification against the actual hardware is the most reliable approach.
