Barco Original Lens R9832767 Zoom is a factory-supplied optical accessory for Barco engineering projectors. It is a standard-throw lens (Standard Throw) with a throw ratio of 1.30-1.80:1. The factory compatibility list covers 3 models; before installation, simply check the projector model and panel size, with no need for adapter rings to make it fit. The value of an original lens lies not in the extra numbers it adds to a specification sheet, but in its factory calibration to the optical path and lens mount of the relevant projector series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel all operate at their design values, so there is no need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

I. Lens Specifications
| Brand | Barco (Barco) |
| Lens Model | R9832767 Zoom |
| Throw Ratio | 1.30-1.80:1 |
| Product Type | Standard Throw (Standard Throw) |
| Compatible Models | 3 models |
| Warranty | 12 months; after-sales service is available for damage not caused by the user, subject to the date on the shipping documents |
The above specifications are subject to the factory specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not shown in the specifications table, please verify them with us using the projector model. Placing an order solely because the model is similar carries the risk that the lens will not fit.
II. Calculating Installation Distance from Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This original lens is a zoom lens (1.30-1.80:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of installation distances. The lens can focus at any position within that range.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | Approx. 2.79 – 3.87 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | Approx. 3.35 – 4.64 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | Approx. 4.19 – 5.80 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | Approx. 5.59 – 7.74 m |
These distances represent the clear distance from the front lens element to the screen and do not include clearance for rear ventilation and cabling. The values are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual distances should be verified through on-site measurement and in accordance with the factory manual.
Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: toward the short-throw end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; toward the long-throw end, the edges are sharper and brightness decreases slightly. Where venue conditions allow, the middle of the range is recommended. After installation, first find the sharpest setting on the focus ring, and then fine-tune the lens shift.
III. Compatible Projector Models (3 Models)
The table below is taken from the factory model compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the projector model database; entries that cannot be obtained are marked “—” and have not been estimated.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| PHWU-81B | 7500 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| PHWX-81B | 7300 lumens | 1280x800 |
| PHXG-91B | 8500 lumens | 1024x768 |
For models outside the list, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens so we can verify compatibility. Platforms from the same generation often share a lens mount, but the risk of ordering based only on a similar model name is not worth taking.
Throw Ratios by Model Series
When the same R9832767 Zoom is used with the model series below, the nominal throw ratio varies. Select the value based on the series of the projector in use.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 1.30-1.80:1 |
IV. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Confirm the projector panel and resolution. Original lenses are designed for specific panel sizes. If the panel specification differs, the image circle cannot cover the full image, causing vignetting or edge light loss after installation.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a nominal throw ratio of 1.30-1.80:1. Use the table in Section II to calculate the distance for your venue. A fixed-focal-length lens offers no adjustment margin, and even a zoom lens requires 10–20 cm of clearance at both ends.
- Verify the mount and locking mechanism. Original lenses are calibrated to the lens mount of the relevant projector series, and you must hear the lens click into its locked position after installation. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking rather than a fault in the lens itself.
If you are unsure, send us one photo each of the projector nameplate and the nameplate on the existing lens. Verification against the actual equipment is the safest approach.
