Sharp Genuine Lens XP-61ZL Long Zoom is an original optical accessory for Sharp professional projectors. It is a long-throw lens (Long Throw) with a throw ratio of 1.40-2.11:1. The official compatibility list covers 4 models. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size; there is no need to make do with an adapter ring. The value of a genuine lens lies not in the extra specifications it adds to the table, but in the fact that it is calibrated at the factory to the optical path and lens mount of the model series: once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focusing travel all meet their design values, with no need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

I. Lens Specifications
| Brand | Sharp (Sharp) |
| Lens Model | XP-61ZL Long Zoom |
| Throw Ratio | 1.40-2.11:1 |
| Product Type | Long-throw (Long Throw) |
| Compatible Models | 4 units |
| Warranty | 12 months; damage not caused by improper use is covered by after-sales service, based on the date on the shipping invoice |
The above specifications are subject to the original manufacturer's specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and lens-mount type not shown in the specifications table, please contact us with your projector model. Placing an order based solely on a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.
II. Converting Throw Ratio into Installation Distance
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This genuine lens is a zoom lens (1.40-2.11:1). A given image size corresponds to a range of installation distances, and the lens can focus at any point within that range after installation.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | Approx. 3.01 – 4.54 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | Approx. 3.61 – 5.44 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | Approx. 4.51 – 6.80 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | Approx. 6.02 – 9.07 m |
The above distances are the clear distance from the front surface of the lens to the screen and do not allow for ventilation and cable connection space behind the projector. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; verify the actual distance on site and refer to the manufacturer's manual.
Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: near the close end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; near the far end, the edges are crisper and brightness drops slightly. Where the venue allows, the middle of the range is recommended. After installation, first find the sharpest position using the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.
III. Compatible Models (4 Units)
The following table is taken from the official compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; where the data is unavailable, “—” is shown, with no assumptions made.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| XP-X141Q-B | 13500 lumens | 3840x2400 |
| XP-X141Q-W | 13500 lumens | 3840x2400 |
| XP-X171Q-B | 16500 lumens | 3840x2400 |
| XP-X171Q-W | 16500 lumens | 3840x2400 |
For models not on the list, send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens for verification. Platforms of the same generation often share a lens mount, but the risk of ordering based on a similar model number is not worth taking.
Throw Ratios for Different Model Series
The rated throw ratio varies by model series when the same XP-61ZL Long Zoom is installed. Select the value based on the series of the projector in use.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 1.40-2.11:1 |
IV. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Confirm the projector chip and resolution. The genuine lens is designed for a specific panel size. If the panel specifications differ, the image circle cannot cover the full image, resulting in vignetting or edge light loss.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 1.40-2.11:1; apply the table in Section II to the screen size at your site. A fixed-focus lens offers no adjustment margin, while a zoom lens should still leave a 10–20 cm margin at both ends of the range.
- Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The genuine lens is calibrated to the lens mount of that model series and must audibly click into the locked position after installation. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking, rather than a problem with the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the existing lens nameplate and send them to us. Verification against the actual hardware is the most reliable approach.
