Optoma Genuine Lens TZ1 Zoom is an original optical accessory for Optoma professional projectors. It is a long-throw lens (Long Throw) with a throw ratio of 1.93-3.71:1. The manufacturer’s compatibility list covers 2 models. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size; there is no need to make do with an adapter ring. The value of a genuine lens lies not in the additional figures in the specifications table, but in the fact that it is factory-calibrated for the optical path and mount of that model series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focusing travel are all at their design values, so there is no need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

I. Lens Specifications
| Brand | Optoma (Optoma) |
| Lens Model | TZ1 Zoom |
| Throw Ratio | 1.93-3.71:1 |
| Product Type | Long Throw (Long Throw) |

| Warranty | 12 months; after-sales service is available for damage not caused by misuse, subject to the date shown on the shipping invoice |
The above specifications are subject to the manufacturer’s official specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not shown in the specifications table, please verify them with us based on the projector model. Placing an order solely on the basis of a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.
II. Calculating Installation Distance from the Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This genuine zoom lens has a throw ratio of 1.93-3.71:1, so a given image size corresponds to a range of distances. The lens can focus at any position within that range during installation.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | approx. 4.15 – 7.98 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | approx. 4.98 – 9.57 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | approx. 6.22 – 11.96 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | approx. 8.30 – 15.95 m |
The distances above are the clear distances from the front surface of the lens to the screen and do not include space behind the projector for cooling and cable connections. These figures are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual distances should be confirmed through on-site measurements and in accordance with the manufacturer’s manual.
Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: toward the shorter-throw end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; toward the longer-throw end, the edges are sharper and brightness decreases slightly. Where venue conditions allow, it is recommended to position the lens near the middle of the range. After installation, first find the sharpest position using the focus ring, and then fine-tune the lens shift.
III. Compatible Models (2 units)
The following table is taken from the manufacturer’s compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; where the data is unavailable, the entry is shown as “—” without estimation.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| EH7700 | 7000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| Europe ProScene EH7500 | — | — |
For models not included in the list, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens so that we can verify compatibility—projectors from the same generation often share a mount, but ordering solely on the basis of a similar model is not worth the risk.
Throw Ratios by Model Series
The rated throw ratio varies by series when the same TZ1 Zoom lens is installed on the models listed below. Select the value for the series to which the actual projector belongs.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 1.93-3.71:1 |
IV. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Confirm the projector’s imaging chip and resolution. Genuine lenses are designed for a specific panel size. If the panel specifications differ, the image circle cannot cover the image, resulting in vignetting or edge light loss after installation.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 1.93-3.71:1. Use the table in Section II to calculate the distance for your venue dimensions. A fixed-focal-length lens offers no adjustment margin, and even a zoom lens should allow an additional 10–20 cm at both ends.
- Verify the mount and locking mechanism. Genuine lenses are calibrated for the mount of the corresponding model series. After installation, you must hear the lens lock into position. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking rather than a problem with the lens itself.
If you are unsure, send us one photo each of the projector nameplate and the nameplate on the existing lens. Verification against the actual hardware is the safest approach.
