2. Converting Throw Ratio into Installation Distance

A throw ratio is the ratio of installation distance to image width. This OEM lens is a fixed-focal-length lens (0.72:1), so the installation distance varies linearly with image size, with no adjustment margin. Accurate measurements are essential before installation.

The distances above are clear distances from the front face of the lens to the screen and do not account for ventilation or cabling space behind the projector. The figures are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual distances should be confirmed through on-site measurement and in accordance with the OEM manual.

4. Three Checks Before Replacement

• Confirm the projector's imaging panel and resolution. The OEM lens is designed for a specific panel size. If the panel specifications differ, the image circle cannot cover the panel, resulting in vignetting or edge light loss after installation.
• Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a nominal throw ratio of 0.72:1; use the table in Section 2 to calculate the distance for your venue. A fixed-focal-length lens offers no adjustment margin, while a zoom lens should still have 10–20 cm of adjustment range at both ends.
• Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The OEM lens is calibrated to the mount on projectors in this series. You must hear it click into the locked position after installation. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking, rather than a problem with the lens itself.
