WA101 is a short-throw lens for 0.96-inch panels (Christie), with a 0.75:1 throw ratio and lens shift. It is compatible with 10 projector models across one model series. This guide consolidates the lens specifications, installation distances, model compatibility list, and replacement considerations.
I. Lens Specifications
| Model | WA101 |

| Throw Ratio | 0.75:1 |
| Lens Shift | Horizontal 21.00% · Vertical 8.20% |
| Applicable Panel | 0.96 inch |
| Compatible Models | 10 models / 1 model series |
| Warranty | 12 months; damage not caused by the user is eligible for after-sales service, based on the date on the shipping invoice |
Lens shift is the key differentiator of this lens. Its horizontal 21.00% and vertical 8.20% shift range allows the projector to be installed off-center relative to the screen, then uses lens shift to reposition the image without keystone correction. Keystone correction comes at a cost—at each correction step, some effective pixels are lost and text edges become blurred. In professional installations, never use keystone correction when lens shift can solve the alignment issue; preserving image quality is essential.
II. Calculating Installation Distance from Throw Ratio
Throw ratio is the ratio of installation distance to image width. This is a fixed-focal-length lens (0.75:1), so the installation distance varies linearly with image size, with no adjustment margin. It must be measured accurately before installation.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | approx. 1.61 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | approx. 1.93 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | approx. 2.42 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | approx. 3.22 m |
These figures represent the clear distance from the front of the lens to the screen and do not include clearance for rear housing cooling and cable connections. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual values are subject to on-site measurements and the manual.
III. Compatible Models (10 Models, Christie)
The following table is ordered from newest to oldest by model production date and includes each model's resolution, brightness, and zoom ratio for the original standard lens, enabling quick selection according to project requirements.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution | Zoom Ratio |
|---|---|---|---|
| DWU2022-HS | 20600 lumens | WUXGA 1920×1200 | 1.33X |
| D20WU-HS | 20600 lumens | WUXGA 1920×1200 | 1.33X |
| DWU1612-HS | 17400 lumens | WUXGA 1920×1200 | 1.33X |
| D16WU-HS | 17400 lumens | WUXGA 1920×1200 | 1.33X |
| D13WU2-HS | 13550 lumens | WUXGA 1920×1200 | 1.33X |
| DWU23-HS | 25050 lumens | WUXGA 1920×1200 | 1.33X |
| DWU19-HS | 20050 lumens | WUXGA 1920×1200 | 1.33X |
| DWU15-HS | 16050 lumens | WUXGA 1920×1200 | 1.33X |
| 4K22-HS | 22500 lumens | 4K 3840×2160 | 1.33X |
| 4K13-HS | 14800 lumens | 4K 3840×2160 | 1.33X |
The zoom ratio is the zoom factor of the model's original standard lens (upper limit ÷ lower limit of the original throw ratio range), not the zoom range of the lens featured in this article.
Common Characteristics of These Models
The original standard lenses for most of the 10 models have throw ratios clustered around 1.5-2.0:1. The 0.75:1 model featured here effectively changes the focal length, allowing a different image size at the same projection distance—this is the direct reason for replacing the lens. It also retains the full lens shift capability, so the image can still be aligned after the focal length is changed.
IV. Three Checks Before Replacement
- The panel and resolution must match. This model is designed for 0.96-inch panels. Projectors with a different panel size or resolution may display differences in projection performance, so checking the chassis nameplate before installation is the safest approach.
- Connector and locking mechanism. Interfaces are generally compatible within the same-generation platform, but the positions of the locking latches vary between generations. If the image is skewed or the edges are not crisp after installation, the latch is usually not fully engaged rather than the lens being defective.
- Allow for shift margin in the installation. The shift range provides some installation flexibility, but edge image quality declines when it is pushed to the limit. In practice, keep shift use within 70% of the specified values.
For models not on the list, it is safest to send us the chassis nameplate and a photo of the original lens for verification. Although platforms of the same generation often share the same interface, ordering on the basis of a similar model number alone carries unnecessary risk.
