SC332 is a medium-to-long-throw lens for the 0.65/0.66/0.67 panel group (Optoma), featuring a 1.26–1.95:1 throw ratio and lens shift. It is compatible with 2 models across 1 model series. This article presents the lens specifications, installation distances, model compatibility list, and replacement considerations all in one place.

Lens shift capability is this lens's key differentiator. A shift range of 110% horizontal and 50% vertical allows the projector to be installed off the screen centerline and the image repositioned using lens shift without keystone correction. Keystone correction comes at a cost—each correction step reduces the effective pixels and causes text edges to appear soft. In professional installations, never use keystone correction when lens shift can solve the alignment; this is the baseline for image quality.
II. Calculating Installation Distance from Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of installation distance to image width. This lens has a zoom range (1.26–1.95:1), so each image size corresponds to a distance range. It can focus anywhere within that range during installation.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | Approx. 2.71 – 4.19 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | Approx. 3.25 – 5.03 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | Approx. 4.06 – 6.29 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | Approx. 5.42 – 8.38 m |
These figures represent the clear distance from the front of the lens to the screen and do not include space for rear chassis ventilation or cable connections. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual distances should be verified on site and against the manual.
Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: near the close end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; near the far end, the edges are sharper and the brightness is slightly lower. Where site conditions allow, the middle of the range is recommended. After installation, first use the focus ring to find the sharpest position, then fine-tune the shift—adjusting both variables at once makes it difficult to pinpoint the optimum setting.
III. Compatible Models (2 Models, Optoma)
The table below is ordered by model production date, from newest to oldest and includes the resolution, brightness, and zoom ratio of each model's original lens for quick selection according to project requirements.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution | Zoom Ratio |
|---|---|---|---|
| ZK1050 | 11000 lumens | 4K 3840×2160 | — |
| ZK750 | 7500 lumens | 4K 3840×2160 | — |
Common Features of These Models
The original standard lenses for these 2 models have different throw ratios, as indicated by Depends on the lens. The 1.26–1.95:1 ratio of the model discussed here represents an adjustment to the focal range, enabling different image sizes from the same projection distance—this is the direct reason for replacing the lens. Full lens-shift capability is retained, so the image can still be aligned after the focal range is adjusted.
IV. Three Things to Confirm Before Replacement
- Match the panel and resolution. This model is compatible with a 0.67-inch panel. Projectors with a different panel size or resolution will exhibit some differences in projection performance, so checking the chassis nameplate before installation is safest.
- Interfaces and locking mechanism. Interfaces are generally compatible within the same platform generation, but the locking clip positions differ between generations. If the image appears skewed or the edges are not sharp after installation, the locking mechanism is usually not fully engaged rather than the lens itself being faulty.
- Factor the lens-shift margin into the installation. The shift range provides installation flexibility, but edge image quality declines at the limits. Actual use should be kept within 70% of the specified values.
To confirm whether a model outside the list is compatible, send us photos of the projector nameplate and original lens for verification—models on the same platform generation often share the same interface, but ordering based solely on a similar model designation is not worth the risk.
