SC34+ is a short-throw lens for engineering projectors (Optoma, Fujifilm, and Christie), featuring a 0.87–1.11:1 throw ratio and lens shift. It is compatible with 13 projector models from 1 model series. This article presents the lens specifications, installation distances, model compatibility list, and replacement considerations in one place.

Lens shift is the key differentiator of this lens. A shift range of 71% horizontally and 23% vertically allows the projector to be installed off the screen centerline, with lens shift bringing the image back into position without keystone correction. Keystone correction comes at a cost—each adjustment step reduces the effective pixel count, causing text edges to blur. In engineering installations, lens shift should be used instead of keystone correction whenever possible, as this is essential to image quality.
2. Calculating Installation Distance from Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This lens supports zoom (0.87–1.11:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of installation distances, and the lens can be focused at any point within that range.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | Approx. 1.87 – 2.39 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | Approx. 2.24 – 2.86 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | Approx. 2.81 – 3.58 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | Approx. 3.74 – 4.77 m |
The distances above are clear measurements from the front of the lens to the screen and do not account for rear housing ventilation or cable-routing space. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual values should be confirmed through on-site measurements and the manual.
Image quality differs at either end of the zoom range: near the short end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; near the long end, the edges are sharper and brightness is slightly lower. When site conditions allow, using the middle of the range is recommended. After installation, first find the sharpest position on the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift—adjusting both variables at once makes precise alignment difficult.

Common Features of These Models
The standard lenses supplied with these 13 models mostly fall under Depends on the lens. The 0.87–1.11:1 lens featured in this article effectively adjusts the zoom range, allowing different image sizes at the same projection distance—this is the direct reason for replacing the lens. It also retains full lens-shift capability, allowing the image to remain properly aligned after the zoom range is adjusted.
4. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Check the panel size. Panel specifications for this model have not yet been added to our database. Please send us a photo of the projector nameplate for confirmation.
- Check the interface and locking mechanism. Interfaces are generally shared within the same platform generation, but the locking-clip positions differ between generations. If the image is skewed or the edges are not sharp after installation, the locking mechanism is usually not fully engaged rather than the lens being defective.
- Account for lens-shift headroom in the installation. The shift range provides some installation flexibility, but image quality at the edges declines when it is pushed to the limit. We recommend limiting actual use to within 70% of the rated value.
For models not on the list, the safest approach is to send us the projector nameplate and a photo of the original lens for verification—interfaces are often shared across platforms of the same generation, but placing an order based only on a similar model designation is not worth the risk.
