Epson Launches EH-LS6000 and EH-LS7500 AI 4K Laser Projectors

Oct 09, 2026, 07:19:00 UTC

On 1 October 2026, Epson announced in Australia that the EH-LS6000 and EH-LS7500, two new AI-driven 4K home cinema laser projectors, are now available in Australia and New Zealand. The two models complete Epson's premium EH-LS line-up for fixed installations, bringing a 500-inch-class big-screen experience to spaces ranging from compact homes and garages to dedicated home theatre rooms.

Unlike previous generations that focused primarily on brightness, this EH-LS generation puts the emphasis on "AI picture quality" and smart-home integration. Both models are built around the MediaTek MT9681 processing platform and Epson's AI imaging engine, and they are the first in the EH-LS series to add Matter support. Here are the key details from the launch.

Two models at a glance: one for size, one for short throws

The EH-LS6000 and EH-LS7500 share the same three-chip 3LCD engine and laser light source platform. Their main differences lie in the optical system and the use cases they target.

The EH-LS6000 is aimed at buyers who want the largest possible picture, delivering up to 3,400 lumens and supporting images up to 500 inches -- the highest ceiling in this launch. The EH-LS7500 pushes the throw ratio much shorter, covering images from 40 to 300 inches, and is positioned as Epson's first "professional-grade 4K short-throw" model in its home line-up. It suits rooms with limited installation distance, multipurpose spaces and emerging scenarios such as indoor golf simulators.

AI picture quality: MT9681 platform plus AI PQ Scene 2.0+

Both models carry Epson's "AI Picture Quality" engine (AI PQ Scene 2.0+), with processing power supplied by MediaTek's MT9681 platform. Compared with the previous generation, image processing shifts from fixed algorithms to understanding content frame by frame: the engine automatically recognises elements within the scene -- Epson's documentation specifically mentions face detection -- and dynamically adjusts colour, contrast and sharpness accordingly.

The pipeline includes AI Super Resolution for finer detail, and an AI Perceptual Quantiser that balances brightness against contrast for more natural tones. It is joined by HDR10 processing, 10-bit colour, scene-adaptive gamma correction, de-contour processing and 4K frame interpolation to keep fast motion smooth. For sources below 4K, intelligent upscaling raises the resolution before display.

3LCD and solid-state laser: the picture foundation and long-term cost

The picture foundation remains Epson's familiar three-chip 3LCD architecture: three LCD panels simultaneously project the red, green and blue primary colours, which Epson says reproduces 100 percent of the RGB colour signal and delivers up to three times the colour brightness of leading single-chip DLP projectors. Combined with 4K enhancement technology, on-screen pixel count reaches 8.3 million (3840×2160 class).

The light source is a solid-state laser rated for up to 20,000 hours with no lamp to replace. Epson has also upgraded the laser engine in this generation with LD Boost technology, which the company says adds up to 12 percent more brightness without increasing operating noise. In day-to-day use, maximum brightness is reached in around eight seconds with no warm-up wait, and almost no cool-down period afterwards. Power consumption is lower than lamp-based equivalents, and brightness is continuously monitored to maintain optimum output. Overall noise sits between 22 and 25 dB.

EH-LS6000: turning an entire wall into a 500-inch screen

As the model with the largest picture ceiling in this launch, the EH-LS6000 delivers up to 3,400 lumens of colour and white brightness, supports images up to 500 inches, and quotes a contrast ratio exceeding 3,000,000:1 for well-defined shadows and deep blacks. In quiet mode it runs at just 22 decibels, and the optical unit is sealed to reduce dust ingress and extend maintenance intervals.

For installation, lens shift reaches ±21 percent horizontally and ±59 percent vertically, enough to handle screen positions in most living rooms and home theatres. Ten lens-memory presets let users switch between aspect ratios quickly without recalibrating. Notably, it is compatible with Epson's existing EH-TW7100 ceiling mount, so upgrading owners avoid extra installation costs. Point correction and quick-corner adjustment are also supported.

EH-LS7500: short throw plus 480 Hz, built for small rooms and gaming

The EH-LS7500 uses a shorter throw ratio than its predecessor, spanning 1.0–1.3, which produces a 100-inch image from roughly 2.2 metres, with images from 40 to 300 inches. It delivers up to 3,500 lumens with a contrast ratio above 5,000,000:1 and offers four colour modes; its AIPQ Scene 2.0+ engine combines AI super resolution with an AI perceptual quantiser.

Gaming performance is the most notable signal in this launch: the EH-LS7500 supports a 400–480 Hz refresh rate, Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and a dedicated Game Mode, with input lag under 20 milliseconds. For audio, eARC carries high-quality sound over a single HDMI cable, while Bluetooth 6.0 makes it easy to connect headphones and soundbars. The model also offers ISF-certified image optimisation.

For real-world homes, the EH-LS7500 moves the lens-shift dials to the front, so adjustments can be made without moving the unit once ceiling mounted -- and the dials are not visible after installation. A front exhaust lets it sit on a shelf at the back of the room.

Matter smart home and installation convenience

These are the first EH-LS models to support the Matter protocol. Once connected, they work with mainstream smart-home platforms including Google Home, Samsung SmartThings and Home Assistant for basic control such as power on and off, and voice operation is available through compatible platforms. For a home cinema that already runs on a smart-home system, that is far less hassle than relying on a dedicated remote and a closed ecosystem.

The installation story is consistent across both models: point correction and quick-corner adjustment are supported, and both reuse the EH-TW7100 ceiling mount. Note that the EH-LS6000 and EH-LS7500 have no built-in speakers and no built-in streaming platform -- they are classic cinema-oriented units designed for fixed installation with external audio and sources.

Line-up positioning: completing the premium EH-LS range

The EH-LS series comprises four models internationally: the entry-level EH-LS5000 at 2,500 lumens, the EH-LS6000 at 3,400 lumens arriving in Australia and New Zealand now, and the EH-LS7000 at 3,600 lumens for high-end media rooms and professional home cinema projects, which adds ISF certification, network control, compatibility with Crestron, AMX and Control4 automation systems, and a 12V trigger for motorised screens. The EH-LS7500 fills the gap for small rooms and simulator setups with its short-throw design. All four are long-throw, rear-of-room installations rather than ultra-short-throw wall-hugging designs.

Pricing and availability

The EH-LS6000 and EH-LS7500 are available now in Australia and New Zealand. Recommended retail prices in those markets are A$5,499 / NZ$6,299 for the EH-LS6000 and A$5,899 / NZ$6,799 for the EH-LS7500, both with a three-year projector warranty and an optional two-year extension.
