On October 24, 2026, Epson officially launched four true 4K home cinema laser projectors in the Chinese market: the CH-LS5000, CH-LS6000, CH-LS7000 and CH-LS7500. The four models form a clear brightness ladder from 2,500 to 3,600 ISO lumens, covering entry-level living rooms, balanced large-screen setups, high-end dedicated theaters and short-throw small spaces. Together they replace the CH-TW6280T, CH-TW7000, CH-TZ3000 and CH-TW7400 lamp-based models. The series is also the first high-end home projector line in China to support the Matter protocol, with prices starting at RMB 12,999.
Four models, separated by brightness
The main differences between the four models come down to brightness, dynamic contrast and throw ratio; the rest of the image processing and smart features are shared across the platform.
- CH-LS5000: 2,500 ISO lumens, 3,000,000:1 dynamic contrast, RMB 12,999. The entry model, aimed at living rooms with reasonable light control, and the lowest price in the lineup.
- CH-LS6000: 3,400 ISO lumens, 3,000,000:1 dynamic contrast, RMB 20,999. The most balanced option, holding a clear picture with curtains drawn during the day or lights on at night, and supporting a larger image.
- CH-LS7000: 3,600 ISO lumens, 5,000,000:1 dynamic contrast, RMB 22,999. The brightest model in the series, intended for dedicated theaters and large multi-level spaces, and ISF certified.
- CH-LS7500: 3,500 ISO lumens, 5,000,000:1 dynamic contrast, RMB 25,999. The only short-throw model, with a 1.0-1.31:1 throw ratio, also ISF certified.

3LCD and laser: 20,000 hours, 12% more light output
All four models use 3LCD real-time light combining, in which red, green and blue beams are processed independently by three LCD panels and then combined into a full-color image. Color brightness matches white brightness, so there is none of the color luminance loss typical of single-chip DLP designs, and rainbow artifacts and flicker are avoided by design, which makes long viewing sessions easier on the eyes.
The light source is a single-color laser rated for 20,000 hours - roughly 13 years at four hours of viewing per day, with no lamp replacement needed. Epson says this generation of laser delivers 12% more performance than the previous one and degrades more gradually under high-temperature, long-duration operation.
MT9681 and Epson AI Imaging
Image processing is handled by MediaTek's MT9681 cinema-grade chip together with the Epson AI Imaging engine, which provides three real-time optimizations: AI-PQ recognizes scene content and adjusts color, contrast and sharpness frame by frame; AI-SR upscales lower-resolution sources to near-4K perceived detail; and AI dynamic contrast strengthens tonal depth. Dynamic color enhancement also adjusts saturation automatically by scene, so landscapes, portraits and films look more natural.
Four professional picture optimizations are included as well: HDR10 dynamic tone mapping keeps highlights from clipping while preserving shadow detail; scene-adaptive gamma gives luminance transitions more depth; MPEG noise reduction softens block artifacts; and smooth gradation removes banding for more natural transitions in skies and skin tones. There are 27 color adjustment options on board, and the CH-LS7000 and CH-LS7500 are additionally ISF certified for professional calibration.
Two ways of describing true 4K
One point worth clarifying: the four models use 0.62-inch 3LCD panels and reach 3840×2160 output, or 8.3 million pixels, through pixel shifting. This is the 4K PRO-UHD approach rather than a native 4K panel. Epson emphasizes that all four models have passed the 4K ultra-high-definition certification of the China Electronics Standardization Institute (CESI/TS006-2020), so they qualify as true 4K products under that standard.
In other words, the perceived detail density is at 4K level, but the technical path is still pixel shifting. Buyers who care about this distinction should look at a real demo before deciding.
CH-LS7500: Epson's first short-throw home 4K model
The CH-LS7500 is the first time Epson has brought a 4K laser model into the short-throw home segment. With a 1.0–1.31:1 throw ratio and 1.3× optical zoom, it fills a 100-inch screen from about 2.2 meters and a 150-inch screen from roughly 3.3 meters - so users with shallow living rooms, or in bedrooms, studies and multi-purpose rooms, no longer have to compromise on placement distance.
The unit weighs about 8.2 kg and measures 440×160×332 mm at its largest, drawing 260 W in standard mode and 168 W in quiet mode. Lens shift is ±59% vertically and ±21% horizontally, which simplifies both ceiling mounting and tabletop placement. Beyond movies, the short throw also suits golf simulators and competitive gaming setups that need the projector close to the screen.

4K@120Hz, 48Gbps and game mode
All four models support lossless 4K at 120Hz, with HDMI link bandwidth raised to 48Gbps, so current-generation consoles and high-refresh PCs do not have to trade resolution for frame rate. ALLM switches to low-latency mode automatically when a game signal is detected, and MEMC motion compensation keeps fast action smooth.
There are two HDMI inputs, one of which supports eARC audio return, so Dolby Atmos and other soundtracks can be sent straight back to an AV receiver or soundbar.
Matter, Bluetooth 6.0 and 22 dB
This is the first high-end home projector series in the Chinese market to support the Matter protocol. Users can scan a code to join the network, and once connected to a mainstream smart home platform, a single movie mode command can turn on the projector, dim the lights and close the curtains without handling each device separately.
Audio support includes Bluetooth 6.0, Dolby audio and audio compensation, so headphones or speakers can be connected wirelessly and the projector can serve as a home entertainment hub. The cooling architecture has been reworked: fewer fans running at lower speeds, LSM cooling to optimize internal airflow and reduce turbulence and resonance, and POP cooling that monitors temperature and pressure to adjust fan speed in real time. Epson rates operating noise below 30 dB at rated brightness, with 25 dB in standard mode and 22 dB in quiet mode.
Pricing and availability
The four models went on sale in China on October 24, 2026 at suggested retail prices of RMB 12,999 for the CH-LS5000, RMB 20,999 for the CH-LS6000, RMB 22,999 for the CH-LS7000 and RMB 25,999 for the CH-LS7500.
Notably, these four models replace the CH-TW6280T, CH-TW7000, CH-TZ3000 and CH-TW7400 lamp-based units, completing Epson's shift of its mainstream home lineup from lamps to laser. There is a clear gap between clearance prices on the outgoing lamp models and launch prices on the new laser units: budget-conscious buyers who do not mind periodic lamp changes will still find value in the older models, while those who prioritize 20,000 hours of maintenance-free operation and stable brightness over time are better served by going laser.
