Panasonic ET-DLE055 Short-Throw Lens for 23 Models including PT-FRZ580C, PT-FRZ680C, PT-FRZ99C

Panasonic Genuine Lens ET-DLE055 is an OEM optical accessory for Panasonic engineering projectors. It is a short-throw (Short Throw) fixed-focus lens with a throw ratio of 0.785:1 for a 0.67 1DLP-inch panel. The official compatibility list covers 23 models. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size; there is no need to rely on adapter rings. The value of a genuine lens lies not in the extra figures in the specification sheet, but in the fact that it is calibrated at the factory to the optical path and mount of that projector series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focusing range are all at their designed values, so there is no need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

Ordering based solely on a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.

II. Installation Distance Calculated from Throw Ratio

The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This genuine lens is fixed-focus (0.785:1 (Fixed Focus)), so the installation distance varies linearly with image size, with no adjustment margin. Accurate measurements are therefore essential before installation.

These figures show the clear distance from the front of the lens to the screen and do not include space for cooling and cable connections at the rear of the projector. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual values should be confirmed through on-site measurement and in accordance with the manufacturer's manual.

For use with a model not on the list, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens so we can verify it. Projectors based on the same platform often share a mount, but the risk of ordering based on a similar model is not worth taking.

The nominal throw ratio varies when the same ET-DLE055 is used with the following projector series, so select the value that applies to the series of your actual projector.

IV. Three Checks Before Replacement

• The panel size must match. ET-DLE055 is designed for a 0.67 1DLP-inch panel. On a projector with a different panel size or resolution, the image circle and edge illumination may be unsuitable even if the lens fits the mount.
• Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a nominal throw ratio of 0.785:1 (Fixed Focus). Use the table in Section II to calculate the distance based on the dimensions of your site. A fixed-focus lens has no adjustment margin, and a zoom lens should also allow 10–20 cm at both ends.
• Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The genuine lens is calibrated to the mount of the relevant projector series. After installation, you must hear the lens lock into place. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking, rather than a problem with the lens itself.
