Christie Genuine Lens 140-144100-XX Short Zoom is an original optical accessory for Christie engineering projectors. It is a short-throw (Short Throw) lens with a throw ratio of 0.65-0.75:1. The factory compatibility list covers five models. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size; there is no need to make do with an adapter ring. The value of an original lens lies not in the extra figures in its specifications, but in the fact that it is calibrated at the factory to the optical path and mount of projectors in the series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel are all at their design values, with no need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

I. Lens Specifications

The above specifications are subject to the factory specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not listed in the specifications, please contact us with the projector model. Ordering based solely on a similar model carries a risk of incompatibility.
II. Converting Throw Ratio to Installation Distance
The throw ratio is the ratio of installation distance to image width. This genuine lens is a zoom lens (0.65-0.75:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of distances. It can focus at any distance within that range.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | Approx. 1.40 – 1.61 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | Approx. 1.68 – 1.93 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | Approx. 2.10 – 2.42 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | Approx. 2.79 – 3.22 m |
These are the clear distances from the front of the lens to the screen and do not include space behind the projector for heat dissipation or cable connections. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual distances should be verified on site and against the manufacturer's manual.
Image quality varies at the two ends of the zoom range: near the close end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; near the far end, the edges are sharper and brightness decreases slightly. Where the venue allows, use the middle of the range. After installation, first find the sharpest setting on the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.
III. Compatible Models (5 Models)
The table below is taken from the factory compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; unavailable entries are marked "—" and are not estimated.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| 4K13-HS | 14800 lumens | 4K (3840 x 2160) |
| 4K22-HS | 22500 lumens | 4K (3840 x 2160) |
| DWU15-HS | 16050 lumens | WUXGA,1920 x 1200 |
| DWU19-HS | 20050 lumens | WUXGA,1920 x 1200 |
| DWU23-HS | 25050 lumens | WUXGA,1920 x 1200 |
For compatibility with a model not on the list, send us a photo of the projector nameplate and the existing lens for verification. Same-generation platforms often share the same mount, but the risk of ordering based on a similar model is not worth taking.
Throw Ratio by Model Series
The nominal throw ratio varies by series when the same 140-144100-XX Short Zoom lens is installed on the series listed below. For selection, use the value for the series of the actual projector.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 0.65-0.75:1 |
IV. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Confirm the projector imaging panel and resolution. Original lenses are designed for a specific panel size. If the panel specifications differ, the image circle cannot cover the full image, resulting in vignetting or light loss at the edges.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 0.65-0.75:1. Use the table in Section 2 to calculate the distances for your venue. A fixed lens offers no adjustment range, and even a zoom lens should be allowed 10–20 cm of margin at both ends.
- Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The original lens is factory-calibrated to the mount of the projector series. After installation, you must hear the locking mechanism engage. A skewed image and soft edges usually indicate that the lock is not fully engaged, rather than a problem with the lens itself.
If you are unsure, photograph both the projector nameplate and the nameplate on the existing lens and send them to us. Verification against the actual hardware is the most reliable approach.
