Christie Original Lens 140-145101-XX Long Zoom is an original optical accessory for Christie engineering projectors. It is a long throw lens with a throw ratio of 7.20-10.80:1. The factory compatibility list covers 4 models, so before installation simply verify the projector model and panel size — no need to make do with an adapter ring. The real value of an original lens lies not in a few extra rows on the spec sheet, but in the fact that it is calibrated at the factory to the optical path and mount of that projector series: once fitted, the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel all sit at their designed values, and there is no need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

I. Lens Specifications
| Brand | Christie (Christie) |
| Lens Model | 140-145101-XX Long Zoom |
| Throw Ratio | 7.20-10.80:1 |
| Product Type | Long Throw |
| Models Covered | 4 units |
| Warranty | 12 months; for defects not caused by physical damage, after-sales service applies, calculated from the date on the shipping invoice |
The above specifications are subject to the original manufacturer specifications. Mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type are not shown in the spec table, so please verify them with us based on the projector model. Ordering directly on the basis of a similar model number carries the risk of a lens that will not fit.
II. Converting Throw Ratio into Installation Distance
Throw ratio is the ratio of installation distance to image width. This original lens is a zoom lens (7.20-10.80:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of distances, and any position within that range can be brought into focus during installation.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | approx. 15.48 – 23.22 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | approx. 18.58 – 27.86 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | approx. 23.22 – 34.83 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | approx. 30.96 – 46.44 m |
The above figures are the clear distance from the front element of the lens to the screen and do not include space for rear ventilation and cabling on the projector. Calculated for a 16:10 image; actual values should be confirmed by on-site measurement and per the original manufacturer's manual.
Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: closer to the close end the image is brighter with slightly softer edges; closer to the far end the edges are sharper and brightness drops slightly. Where the venue allows, aim for the middle of the range, and after installation first find the sharpest position on the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.
III. Compatible Models (4 units)
The table below is taken from the original manufacturer's compatibility list; brightness and resolution are filled in from the model database, and entries that cannot be retrieved are marked "—" with no guesswork.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| 4K13-HS | 14800 lumens | 4K (3840 x 2160) |
| DWU15-HS | 16050 lumens | WUXGA,1920 x 1200 |
| DWU19-HS | 20050 lumens | WUXGA,1920 x 1200 |
| DWU23-HS | 25050 lumens | WUXGA,1920 x 1200 |
For models not on the list, please send us a photo of the projector nameplate and the existing lens so we can verify compatibility — platforms of the same generation often share the same mount, but ordering on the basis of a similar model number is not worth the risk.
Throw Ratios by Model Series
The nominal throw ratio of the same 140-145101-XX Long Zoom differs depending on the series it is used on, as listed below. When selecting, use the value for the series of the actual projector.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 7.20-10.80:1 |
IV. Three Things to Confirm Before Replacement
- Confirm the projector panel and resolution. Original lenses are designed for a specific panel size. With a different panel specification the image circle cannot cover the full area, and the result is vignetting or light loss at the edges after installation.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a nominal throw ratio of 7.20-10.80:1. Apply the table in Section II to the dimensions of your own venue; a fixed-focus lens offers no margin, and even a zoom lens needs 10–20 cm of leeway at both ends.
- Verify the mount and the lock. Original lenses are calibrated to the mount of that projector series, and you must hear the lock engage once the lens is fitted. A skewed image or soft edges are most often caused by an incompletely locked lens, not by a fault in the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo each of the projector nameplate and the current lens nameplate and send them to us — checking against the physical items is the safest approach.
