Genuine Sharp Lens XP-62ZL Long Zoom is a factory-supplied optical accessory for Sharp professional projectors. It is a long-throw lens (Long Throw) with a throw ratio of 2.10-4.00:1. The factory compatibility list covers 4 models. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size; there is no need to make do with an adapter ring. The value of a genuine factory lens lies not in the additional figures on a specification sheet, but in the fact that it is calibrated at the factory to the optical path and mount of the projector series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focusing travel are all set to their design values, eliminating the need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

The above specifications are subject to the factory specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not shown in the specifications, please check with us using the projector model. Ordering directly based solely on a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.
II. Calculating Installation Distance from the Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This genuine factory lens is a zoom lens (2.10-4.00:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of installation distances, and it can focus at any distance within that range.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | Approx. 4.51 – 8.60 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | Approx. 5.42 – 10.32 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | Approx. 6.77 – 12.90 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | Approx. 9.03 – 17.20 m |
The figures above represent the clear distance from the front of the lens to the screen, excluding the space required for ventilation and cable connections at the rear of the projector. They are calculated for a 16:10 aspect ratio; actual distances are subject to on-site measurement and the factory manual.
Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: toward the short-throw end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; toward the long-throw end, the edges are sharper and the image is slightly dimmer. Where the venue allows, it is recommended to position the lens in the middle of the range. After installation, first find the sharpest position on the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.
III. Compatible Models (4 Models)
The following table is taken from the factory compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; unavailable specifications are shown as "—", with no assumptions made.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| XP-X141Q-B | 13500 lumens | 3840x2400 |
| XP-X141Q-W | 13500 lumens | 3840x2400 |
| XP-X171Q-B | 16500 lumens | 3840x2400 |
| XP-X171Q-W | 16500 lumens | 3840x2400 |
To check whether a model not listed here is compatible, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens for verification. Projectors based on the same-generation platform often share the same mount, but the risks of ordering based on model similarity are not worth taking.
Throw Ratios Across Different Model Series
The rated throw ratio of the same XP-62ZL Long Zoom lens differs across the following series. Select the value based on the series of the projector in use.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 2.10-4.00:1 |
IV. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Confirm the projector panel and resolution. A genuine factory lens is designed for a specific panel size. If the panel specifications differ, the image circle cannot cover the full image area, resulting in vignetting or light loss at the edges after installation.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 2.10-4.00:1. Use the table in Section II to calculate the distance for your venue. A fixed-focus lens offers no adjustment margin, and a zoom lens still requires a 10–20 cm reserve at both ends of the zoom range.
- Verify the mount and locking mechanism. A genuine factory lens is calibrated to the mount of the corresponding projector series. After installation, you must hear the lens click into the locked position. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by the lens not being fully locked, rather than by a defect in the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the existing lens nameplate and send them to us. Verification against the actual products is the most reliable approach.
