Panasonic Original Lens ET-ELW31 is an OEM optical accessory for Panasonic engineering projectors. It is a standard-throw lens (Standard Throw) with a throw ratio of 0.74-0.96:1, designed for 0.76" 3LCD panels. The OEM compatibility list covers 14 models. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size; there is no need to make do with adapter rings. The value of an OEM lens lies not in the extra rows of figures in its specifications, but in the fact that it is calibrated at the factory to the optical path and mount of the projector series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel are all at their design values, with no need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

I. Lens Specifications

The above specifications are subject to the OEM specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not shown in the specifications table, please verify them with us using the exact projector model. Ordering solely based on a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.
II. Calculating Installation Distance from Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This OEM lens is a zoom lens (0.74-0.96:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of installation distances, and the lens can focus anywhere within that range.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | approx. 1.59 – 2.06 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | approx. 1.91 – 2.48 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | approx. 2.39 – 3.10 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | approx. 3.18 – 4.13 m |
These distances represent the clear gap from the front surface of the lens to the screen and do not include space behind the projector for cooling and cable connections. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual distances should be verified on site and in accordance with the OEM manual.
Image quality varies at the two ends of the zoom range: at the short-throw end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; at the long-throw end, the edges are sharper and brightness is slightly lower. Where the installation space allows, use the middle of the range. After installation, first find the sharpest setting using the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.
III. Compatible Models (14 models)
The table below is taken from the OEM compatibility list. Brightness and resolution values are populated from the model database; entries that cannot be obtained are marked as "—", and no assumptions are made.

For models not on the list, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens so we can verify compatibility. Mounts are often shared across platforms of the same generation, but ordering solely based on a similar model is not worth the risk.
Throw Ratios by Model Series
The rated throw ratio of the same ET-ELW31 varies across the series listed below. For selection, use the value for the series of the actual projector.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 0.74-0.96:1 |
IV. Three Checks Before Replacement
- The panel size must match. ET-ELW31 is designed for 0.76" 3LCD-inch panels. Even if the lens fits the mount, a projector with a different panel size or resolution may have problems with image circle and edge illumination.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 0.74-0.96:1. Use the table in Section 2 to calculate the distance for your installation space. A fixed-focus lens offers no adjustment margin, and even a zoom lens requires 10–20 cm of clearance at both ends.
- Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The OEM lens is calibrated to the mount of that projector series. After installation, you must hear it click into the locked position. A skewed image or soft edges usually indicate that the lens is not fully locked, rather than a problem with the lens itself.
If you are unsure, send us one photo each of the projector nameplate and the nameplate on the existing lens. Verification against the actual equipment is the most reliable approach.
